Default Tyre size problem

I have a 1992 XJ 4.0 Sov original tyre size 225/65VR15 which is no longer available and have encountered a problem in getting the car through French controle technique (same as UK MOT) they dont accept other sizes such as 225/60VR15, any suggestions for tyre location or alternative size on a 15 inch rim are very welcome

Depending on the actual requirements of the controle technique, one approach might be to research all possible factory options on that chassis in 1992 in your market. A factory option would therefore be homologated and thus acceptable in most government inspection regimes.
