2017 F-Pace R-Sport (worth the buy?)
I live in the USA (Oklahoma), and am considering a 2017 F-Pace R Sport with the S/C 3.0 V6. I currently have a 2010 XKR and a 2011 Ford Expedition Limited. I am thinking of trading in the Expedition and running full Jag. After buying the XKR a few years ago, I have come to really love the sporty feel and look of my XKR and when the F-Pace came out, I have always thought they looked great, but have been out of my reach as far as price goes. Now, a person can get a 35t with fair miles for $28-$37k, which is perfect.
Anyhow, what are the pros/cons? Any major issues that people have reported? I cannot find much online about reliability, which is a good thing, but would like to hear some stories from people with experience. Some I have seen with over 100k miles already. Some YouTubers have reviewed them and have enjoyed them. I know Jay Emm did have issues with his SVR press car trial going dark for over an hour due to unknown reasons and was a bit apprehensive about recommending it (video below). I personally have had zero issues with my XKR over the last 3 years of ownership, but it being a weekend car, I don't really give it the onions of what a daily driver would be subjected to.
Even with that, I still feel drawn to this vehicle and really like the thought of having another S/C Cat in my garage.

We had a '17 S for about 3 years, then traded it last year for a '20 SVR. Haven't had any issues with either, and it is probably the best car we've ever owned. There's just that feeling you get every time you walk up to it, and then again when you drive it. I still can't help but to look back after parking. There's been a few reported issues, but I don't think it's more than any other car out there. Some complain about the infotainment, but I don't think it's that bad. Only once or twice has it glitched on us, but came back after a restart. My '18 Tahoe company car has a much worse infotainment that always seems to have problems, especially with CarPlay. Keep in mind that at least half of all problems people have with cars are self-inflicted. Keep up on services and don't flog it too bad and they seem to do just fine. Jaguar has had a bad reputation in decades past that they can't seem to shake, but I don't think it's warranted any more. Find the right one and get all the options you can in your budget.

European Car of the Year in 2017, so I guess whats not to like?? Bought mine (2017 R-Sport 3.0 Supercharged) in 2019 here in NZ, 2nd hand with only 180kms on the clock, previous owner from new had put it in garage and never driven it. First Jag I have had (previously a Holden Calais, 3.8 Supercharged) and am very satisfied with it, being virtually new after dealer put new battery & tyres on, and gave it a full service with balance of 5yr warranty to run. Just coming up to 20,000kms now and running sweet. Only problem I've had was the smart key, battery low and wouldnt open car or start at times. Installed a new 2032 battery and it is fine again. Looked at other SUV's but love the Jag lines and its great space in trunk, seats comfy and plenty of room. Only minor grizzles I have are hard plastics inside, USB port buried in the mid-seat cubby along with GPS SD Card which has to be updated online - a bit of a process. Chrome around window switches reflects on window & can obscure rear mirror view. But other than that it drives really well, mechanically sound, sticks to our kiwi roads like glue, has excellent performance but am getting around 9.5litres/100 km at present, so moderately economic (on a par with the bigger Holden), and goes like stink when you want to. I'll be hanging onto the F-Pace for a while (other vehicle is a Ford Ranger 4WD).
