Hi All!
Cross posting this from the other F-Pace Forum in case there's members not on there and have feedback on this.
Been a few years since there's been discussion on Ceramic & PFF prices. I ordered a 2025 BRG SVR (delivery mid-July) and decided to do some pricing research for full front PPF, ceramic coating and tinting the front windows & windshield. I'd love feedback from anyone with experiene on whether these prices seem fair or if I should price shop around some more. I've never done ceramic or PPF before so this would be a first. I was going back and forth on doing full front PPF or just skip and do ceramic but since I paid so much for the custom color, I figured I'd like to protect the paint from chips as long as possible. I know there was some back and forth on whether multiple layers of ceramic are necessary; I just figured more layers = longer lasting protection vs. doing 1 coat every 5yrs or so.
These prices are based in the MA market.
Shop #1
20% Side Window Tint $250
70% Windshield Tint $395
Full Front PPF $2300
8YR Ceramic (XPEL Fusion Plus 1 layer + 1 top) $1300
Full Wheels $495
All Exterior Glass $250
$4987.50
Shop #2
20% Side Window Tint $300
70% Windshield Tint $440
Full Front PPF $2400
Lifetime Ceramic Pro (Ceramic Pro 4 layers + 1 top) $1600
Full Wheels $795
Exterior Glass $695
Windshield $195
$6415
Shop #3
20% Side Window Tint $250
70% Windshield Tint $250
Full Front PPF $1,995
Lifetime Ceramic (Ceramic Pro 3 layers + 1 top) $2,295
Full Wheels (included)
All Exterior Glass (included)
$4790
I'd probably go with Shop #3 given the price vs. what you get unless folks feel the prices are still way out of line.

Those prices are eye-watering. If I trusted all of them to do the job right, I might mix and match certain services to get the best total price (like tint from Shop 3, Ceramic from Shop 1, PPF from shop 3, etc.) unless after you inform them of your intentions that you plan to go a la carte they give you a combo discount for sourcing all those services together with them.

Pricing is going to make a big difference depending on where you are. I'm also in MA and it's a lot more than say TX for that type of work
As one data point I had my F Pace SVR done last summer - paint correction plus full ceramic on all exterior (panels, plastics, windows, wheels) for around $1700. Took them around 3 days to do it. In MA too
Tinting risks failing MA state inspection..

Looks like some big differences in prices, Option 2 looks a little too much but 3 seems reasonable. I agree with BritCars on the tinting in MA. Just make sure that the shop does it the right shade for inspection, a friend of mine had his front windows tinted to match the back ones, which the shop did with no problem but then he ended up failing inspection and had to get them redone. Not fun.

I haven't quite settled on 20%. I had 20% 2 cars ago and had a place for inspections that never checked my tint so I had no issues and didn't get pulled over until the car was 10yrs old and at that point, I wouldn't lose sleep if I had to remove it on the spot. My current car I did 35% because I didn't want to have to worry about passing inspection but it's lighter than I like and since I'm doing the light oyster interior so it'll be even lighter than my current car... Pros and cons!

We just traded off our 2020 F-Pace for a 2024 Mercedes GLE 450. During the portion of the process where the "effin'-I guy", as I refer to them as (I actually believe it's shorthand for finance and insurance), he starts running down the list of various "extras" that are available, and they'd like to sell us. One of them was a ceramic coating, and yes, they wanted $1300. Being a 100% DIY guy, as much as possible, I opted to apply a ceramic coating myself. I bought the products from Griot's Garage, including a bunch of fresh microfiber polishing cloths, for under $100. The wax kit arrived yesterday, and I'll be doing the application within the next few days.
