Default Considering an SVR to replace RR

Hi everyone, I’ve been on the f type page for many years as I own a 2020 R so very familiar with the brand and models.

3 years ago looked at an f pace SVR to replace another SUV and while I liked most everything about it I was torn between it and a RR sport. I ended up going with the RR as my wife standing next to me said “you know it’s your car just higher”. She isn’t wrong and thought I would like something different as my daily. If I had to have just one vehicle it would be the f pace as it covers functionality and sportiness.

I’ve been very happy with the RR as its very comfortable, quiet , killer stereo and the boxy shape offers plenty of room. 4 things that are important to me.

Between the much higher price ($20 000 cdn) and higher insurance cost do to the rash of thefts mine included (got it back after damages were fixed) I’m considering the SVR again as my lease runs out later this year.

I’m waiting for the 2025’s to come out before I order something which should be around March I’m told for ordering.

Does anyone know if there will be any special additions with the SVR like they did with the final year of the f type?

I will be giving up some luxury and comfort which I’ve grow to appreciate at my not so mature 57 but damn I like that SVR.

Thanks for listening

The last 2023 F-Pace SVR Special Edition that I know of was the 1988 Edition. Very sleek and elegant design SUV/XUV with Purple and Gold combo.

I got my F Pace svr about 6 months ago and love it. It is a lot smaller than the RRSport. (We have a discovery which is on the sport platform). But that makes it a lot more agile, sharper and a much more fun driving experience. I would highly recommend it

I didn't think there was going to be a 2025 model year. I thought 2024 was the last of Jaguar gas vehicles
I would guess there are basically zero changes from 24 to 25 - they might just choose to label some vehicles as 2025 model. But I can't believe they will do anything significant to the end of model last year. So if you see a 24 priced well you might want to consider that. 2023 is very much the same too and there are a few of those on lots too

Highly recommend the head up display. You may find the upgraded stereo hard to find given chip shortages. I like the full leather not the half suede cloth seats

On another Jaguar forum. Looks to be a screenshot from official literature (might be internal?).

My sales guy just sent me the full build sheet for 2025 that he got this week.

I’ll be going through it later.

575 hp. I just did a quick test drive in an SVR. Really like the sporty drive and looks and of course the power and exhaust note.

However as mentioned in my original post I have a f type R….same engine , similar design language and sounds just as awesome. If I had to have one car the SVR would be it as its awesome and a great value. Walked back in and put money down to be first in line for a 2025 RR Sport which ordering should be open in a month or so.

The main reason is the bigger interior, the extremely smooth and quiet luxury ride which I have lived with in my current 2021. I will get my speed and awesome aural experience in my F type.

There will be days I will miss the SVR for sure as it’s been a fav of mine since they came out.

Thanks for all the feed back

Interesting. It was nominally rated 550hp for the 2023/2024 model years so they have given it a slightly higher performance tune (or maybe just marketing difference - I also wondered in F Type R which used to be 550hp then was posted at 575hp in the final years

Which RR Sport are you getting - what engine?

The SVR in the car was always 575 and when they stopped making it they gave the R the 575. I’m sure its a software change

I got a RR Sport HSE P400 which the 6cyl turbo mild hybrid. It works well in my current one and wasn’t prepare to move up the BMW 4.4 Litre 8 which is a $20 000 increase.

Black metallic with caraway interior, massage seats etc. Probably my last working new vehicle before I retire so built it to my liking.

The Sport sounds terrific!

I'm confused on SVR. I thought you were talking about F Pace. That is specced as a 550hp SVR. You are right that on the F Type the SVR was 575 and once they stopped making it they stepped the R from 550 to 575.

But for F Pace the SVR is specced at 550

As you say just software (and I'm skeptical if there is actually a difference in practice or just marketing..)

SVR all day, you get more looks than the Range Rover, but the Range Rover is nice also the SVR just looks better on the street

Some literature puts the new F pace SVR at 575hp but others still show 550. When the SVR f type came out they gave it 575 to justify the cost increase and any tests I found it shaved a few 10s off to 60 etc..over the R

I agree the F pace SVR looks more sporty and draws attention but I’m going with the RR sport for size and luxury as apposed to sportiness. Again I have the F type R so get my fix there.

Another reason is I found the seats a little snug on my “mature weight ” 6’ 2’ frame. Acceptable in my car but I’ll be doing some full day trips this summer and nothing beats a RR sport for a luxurious silent drive.

As mentioned if I had to have just one ride it would be the f pace SVR as it looks and does everything well.
