OEM tow receiver and module not compatible with 2023 F-PACE SVR
An update to having an OEM tow hitch receiver and module installed on my 2023 SVR. Parts were ordered but the mechanic/technician said that the OEM receiver can't be installed on a 2023 SVR because the mufflers are in the way. Plus, there isn't a plug on the wiring harness for the control module. I'm now waiting for a credit for returned parts. Sometime later I will look into having an aftermarket tow receiver installed. I'm also looking into buying a suitable tow vehicle.

Correction. I spoke with the actual Jaguar technician who also owns a SVR. He said the hitch would fit but there isn't an existing plug into which the towing module could be plugged. Hot wiring the module into taillight, brake and turn signal wires may throw a code or worse. I'm reluctant to try that.
I have the OE electrically deployable tow hitch on my 2017 which I've only used three times. It's an excellent piece of kit and this MY was designed for full compatability but the option appears to be so rarely specified by F-Pace buyers, I'm not surprised Jaguar have effectively dropped it for your MY.
I can understand that. I have friends who continue to tell me that a Jag isn't for towing whenever they see our E-PACE or (previous) F-PACE with their tow hitches. I suppose that's the way most people view Jaguar SUVs. However, I see tow hitch receivers on lots of Audi Q5s & Q7s. The same with Merc SUVs. And I've even seen tow hitches on Porsche Cayenne SUVs. (I've never seen anyone ever towing with them though.) Why is it so strange to see a tow hitch on a Jag?
I just might have a tow hitch receiver and towing module installed on our new SVR and leave the wiring for another day. With the increasing shortage of Jag parts I fear that tow hitches won't be available if I wait too long. Besides, I've learned from a few rear end accidents to previous Toyota SUVs (3 to be exact and none were my fault) that the steel frame of a tow hitch behind the bumper prevents a lot of major damage to one's vehicle. Yep. I just might have one installed for that reason alone. :-)
My Porsche Cayenne also had a tow hitch (which I never used) but I soon loathed that vehicle with such a passion, I sold it after eleven months and bought an F-Pace.
I don't find anything strange about a tow hitch on an SUV. To me they are all utility vehicles with emphasis on the Utility rather than the Sports in SUV.
I'm interested in purchasing, but light towing capability is a must. Currently have an Audi Q7 TDI diesel (~400 lb/ft trq) that I use to tow a small trailer with 2 Harley's. Total weight of the trailer with bikes is around 2,000 lbs.
I'm curious how the F Pace would handle the tow. The Q7 pulls it effortlessly. Anyone here have experience towing with their F Pace?
TIA
You didn’t say you were getting rid of the Audi…so why not use it to tow the Harleys?
You know if you asked that question on Hdforums.com the answers you’d get.
I test drove an Audi A6 Allroad today as we are looking for a vehicle to replace our Sierra Denali as our towing needs have been downsized, in any event as I was test driving the A6 my wife sent me a picture of an F-Pace that was pictured on our Jag dealers service mailer. With that I am now looking into an F-Pace P400 that will definitely see some 3000 lb. and less towing.
From what I'm reading here it sounds like I should have the dealer install the OEM hitch and wiring.
Purchased an F-Pace P 400 and had the dealer install a OEM hitch and wiring, to say I am impressed with the towing capability of the F-Pace would be an understatement!!! The trailer in the pic has two snowmobiles in it and the combined weight of trailer with that load is 2,700 lb., the Jag pulls it at 75 to 85 mph effortlessly and makes passes on two lanes with authority. The only thing missing was the K-Source tow mirrors I have on order.
