Default Service manual

Hello,

I’m hoping to get some advice for a good service manual for a 2017 F-Pace.

Thanks,
Steve

Default Clarification

I’m looking for a service manual for mechanical repairs. Not a download, but one that I can get greasy and fling satisfyingly across the garage when I broken another thing.

I have a 2018 XF workshop manual in CD which I bought from eBay for less than $20. The seller is from UK. It include 2, 3 liter Gas/Petrol and 2, 3 liter Diesel. It has 12,731 pages in pdf of information and diagrams

Welcome to the forums Steve,

Those days have long gone. Jaguar technical information is all online. I downloaded the Workshop Manual for my F-Pace and print off sections as required. I satifyingly throw them in the bin when I've repaired another thing.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Graham

Graham, did you download the Topix manual? I picked up this one off of easmanuals: Jaguar F-Pace X761 3L Petrol PDF Workshop and Wiring Manual 2017 Instant Download
I was just starting to try to diagnose some things, but all the engine pics just do not look correct. There is a 2016-2022 version, so I'm wondering somehow if 2017 there doesn't
mean the same as 2017 in the U.S.

YES - for my F-Pace and XK, I downloaded the TOPIx manuals. Even though I did this from the VIN's, the content is definitely generic rather than absolutely specific like the old printed Workshop Manuals. I particularly dislike the blue tinted graphics which are nowhere near as clear as drawings used to be or as the graphocs in the Partts Catalogue still are. However, it's the best source available.

I recently purchased a Workshop Manual from easymanuals for my Bentley Continental GT. It was supposed to be "Created From Your REG or VIN Number" for which I paid extra but is most definitely generic. Nevertheless, still a useful comprehensive manual and good value.

You need to be careful with Model Year and Calendar Year. Model Year is usually introduced around September so a vehicle built in 2017 can be a 2018 Model Year. Add to this the complication that in the USA a vehicle year is the year in which it is registered and not the one in which it was manufactured.

Are you sure about that??

I've never seen that occur, in my lifetime. For example, the new cars hit the showrooms, as you mention, usually in September. In September of 1976, I ordered a new car. The car was a '77 model, built in 1976, as a '77 model, and was registered as a 1977 model for the 25 years that I owned it. Again, in September of 1995, I ordered a '96 model car. It was built in 1995, as a '96 model, and was registered as a 1996 model, for the 19 years that I owned it......

I'm only confident about vehicles imported to the USA being designated for registration as the year of import and not the actual year of manufacture because so many US members have posted about it. As I've never registered a vehicle in the USA myself, I have no direct knowledge of this.

For example the final X100 (XK8/XKR) came off the production line on Friday 27th May 2005 but several US members have X100's registered as 2006. By this time the production line had been ripped out and the Browns Lane factory in Coventry had been demolished!

Ok, so I finally got my issue figured out with the manual. Turns out I had downloaded the manual for the Ingenium 3.0L I6, as opposed to the AJ126 3.0L V6.
I now have the correct one, and it looks waaaaay better. ;-) I didn't see anything indicating the specific differences on the website, but the service desk got me
to the right one. Definitely could be labeled better.
