Default Ticking noise above 50mph

Hi All
I have an F Pace 19k miles. Main dealer full service at 12k. It also had at the same time an Underbody Treatment using AD121 underbody clear and AD 1021 underbody black;.

Once I go above 50mph I hear a ticking sound like a pen tapping on a household radiator the noise is not uniform but only slightly irratic. It seems to be wind related ie under 50mph no noise at all, it does not matter if you are going up or downhill engine not under load.Put the radio on you cant hear it.

Would any one know what this practice of Underbody Treatment involves ie removal of panels, I think it is something left undone or loose, as they missed out an undertray bolt totally missing.

Once the weather warms up I will check the main dealer fitted the undertray correctly and has not left antthing on the tray.
If any one can surggest anthing else i would appriciate this

I was told to attach an earth strap via a bolt to join them and then onto the stud on the body. This did not make the noise go away
Any ideas appriciated
Thanks Richard

1) Are you sure it's not the engine? There are some reports I've read online ticking noise from the engine after an oil change. Lift the hood, and have someone rev the engine at high RPM. Listen if there's ticking noise. If it's the engine ticking noise, could be low oil pressure or something else. Have the dealer check it out since the car is under warranty?

2) If none, then tap with your middle knucle the bumper panel on all sides (especially where the bumper is bolted on the body panel-suppose to be a solid sound) tap the front part too. How about the front grill?, tap that as well. Plate number bracket, also. Underneath the car, tap the under tray (this should be fully bolted to the body as it will flap on high speed). Do you hear anything loose on all of these?

These are things you should concentrate on since you have an oil change (top-down oil change not performed) and underbody treatment done just recently on your vehicle.

The undertray must have been removed and refitted to carry out the Underbody Treatment. It's huge with a total of 22 fixings:

10mm x 20 hex bolts - 18
10mm x 15 hex bolts - 4

It also engages with the side underbody panels so careful refitting is required. A metallic tapping could be from a loose undertray, exhaust or manifold heatshield. Other more serious mechanical possibilities come to mind but it's too much of a coincidence the tapping noise began after just the service and treatment to first suspect it's not directly related.
