Using FreedomPop

Using FreedomPop
After our AT&T trial ended (prematurely, but that's another story), I decided to try using FreedomPop in the F-Pace.
Their website shows the Global Sim Card as temporarily unavailable, but I was able to purchase one on ebay ($6.00) and it was delivered in 2 days, directly from Amazon. Activation was on-line, costing another $10. I signed up for the free 200mb/month plan and got a 1GB bonus. I opted out of the automatic "refill" on the dollars in my account. After initializing the account on the computer, I turned off wifi and inserted the sim card in the car. It took a couple of minutes, but connected automatically and works. The next question will be how much data we actually use/need to see if the 200mb is enough. One day in and we've used 7mb, mostly testing to see if the setup works.

I am clocking how much data I am using now in my XE with the given AT&T sim card to figure out what plan I will need going forward.
I hope this thread grows and everyone share info on what sim cards will work and which has the cheapest plan. I don't use it very often but it is nice to have handy.

As promised, here is an update on data usage. After 2 weeks and 546 miles, we've used 93MB of data. That's doing normal driving with no overt data demands (no weather, news, etc usage under Live). I only had one 25-mile trip where I used the Nav, and the usage for that day was actually a bit less than average.
