Default Finally spacers aka adapters on my lowered F Type R- Pics

Well its been a little bit of an issue getting the proper spacers/adapters for the coupe which runs a slightly (ever so) larger center bore than the pre made spacers for other Jaguar cars. The standard center bore I would find from H&R or Arden is 63.3mm which is not correct for the F Type. We need a 63.4mm and no one seemed to have these over the shelf so I went to Motorsport-tech and had them made. I used adapters versus spacers since there wasn't enough factory thread for a spacer sleeve. The adapters I installed are 15mm all the way around and the car looks much better in person, especially with the drop. The whole process to get the adapters made was about 4 business days from order to delivery.

Wheel Adapters, Wheel Spacers, Hub Centric Rings | Motorsport Tech

I took the car several times over 130mph on short bursts and cruised through normal mph ranges to confirm no vibration or anomalies and no rubbing even with the drop. The only thing, which was expected, was the factory studs would extend out past the 15mm adapter and touch the rear of the wheels. They did by about 2mm so shaving was the trick. This was NO big deal as no threads were cut, just the stubs post threads. This process is very easy and most wheel shops can do it easily.

Default One comment, one question

Ok, never been a big fan of white but daaaannggg... your car is smokin with that combo. I keep reviewing the pics and am drooling. Excellent job on the drop.

Question: I see the Audi (R)S7 in the driveway with similar colors...so which one is faster?

Thanks to all for the kind words... Im glad the adapters worked out.

While the Jag may sound much better; the RS7 has a GIAC tune and is blistering fast for a 4 door car weighing almost 4500 lbs. The RS7 is easily faster from a dig stock or modded and from a roll its probably a little faster (my Jag is tuned). A few cars with the tune (RS7) are running high 10's at the track and trapping circa 130 mph. And with that being said, speed is only a part of the experience and Id rather drive the F Type if I had to choose.

Just beautiful Vic! I don't think there is anything else you can do to that car to make it look better. I got first dibbs on it when or if you ever grow tired of it, lol!

I think Porsche is the only OEM that I have ever dealt with that offered them. But in the BMW world there tons of great aftermarket companies just throwing these options out. Even on my RS7 when I had stock whees; I was able to go to the local tuner shop and he had them instock. It really is all about demand.

Thank you and yes Ill PM you if/when that time comes. Normally I get tired of cars around 6-9 months but I have a feeling this one is going to make it to a birthday

You need to update your signature to include that little red car.

I would get a professional shop to roll the fenders.
Vic, I have not contacted the folks at Motorsport Tech yet, but since they claim to make these up custom, I would think they could make a set for Dremorg at 12mm rather than 15.

Might not exactly fit into the quantity purchase concept I was thinking, but I'm sure I could convince them to include a discount for orders this brings them that they might not get otherwise.

Vic -- how does the car drive with the springs and did you research other spring manufactures? I'm looking for a nominal height drop as streets in Miami are not conducive to an agreesive drop.

I think you saw my response to this in the other thread. There really wasnt any other spring company out there and H&R actually mislabeled theirs and pulled back on their issuance (see my thread on my car being lowered).

Search my name for posts started by Vic55 and you will find the lowering thread and all my thoughts if you need more details.

The short and skinny: the springs are great and there is minimal sacrifice in ride quality for the form change.

FYI I thought the following photo, from another thread, was pretty helpful for seeing what the wheel stance is without spacers on a dark F-type.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f-type-72/f-type-r-its-way-hennessy-127490/page4/#post1079440

I agree that spacers will make this look better and less mushroom-like (that's a technical term), particularly for the rear wheels.
