Default $3.24 fix for parcel shelf issue

Many of you know about the nagging parcel shelf issue on the coupe, where it will randomly fall off the posts. Jaguar came up with a solution, two rubber washers if you will, that slide over the posts to keep the parcel shelf from sliding left to right. JLR wants $26 a piece for these rubber washers/bushings.

Well, $3.24 to be exact (at the time of this post) later and a couple of 3/8 Dorman rubber caps, with the tips cut off and we effectively have the same solution and solves the problem. Enjoy for anyone having a similar issue and take yourself out for lunch or dinner on the money you saved LOL.

Mine was fixed under warranty after the shelf slipped off the pegs and jammed in the rear door, and I snapped a cord freeing it.

What was the depth that you used on both sides. Looks like possibly 1/2 inch. Cheers Frank

Nice, I just screwed two screws down the middle of them to extend them by 1/4 inch but this looks more stealth.
