Default It’s no to my 3rd service according to dealer

So got a call yesterday from Jag salesman on whether I be interested in trading up, so I said have you one to look at, not till march.Ok I said I will have a look when getting my car in for it last service of the 3 year service which was my standard warranty.
Now as I Mentioned this is the final year of my warranty, bought the car March 2018, got first service March 2019, then last year of course the covid struck so didn't get the car up in March 2020 had to wait till July due to restrictions and 3hr drive to dealers.
Today got a call would I like to get a free warranty check as it would be ending with my 3 year warranty. Now take into account we are back in lockdown again and here in Ireland 5km travel rule applies, so travel is ok for essential. I said to service guy sure I'll can get the car serviced when I'm up ,he then informed me that I would have to pay for that service as due to me going in July is wasn't a year between services and car needs 53,000km some **** like that, so just because I went up late due to the covid last year I won't get free service now if I went to them. Car has 31,000kms now.
I explained sure we're in same position as last year due to covid and might not get up anyway till restrictions ease, he wasn't to bothered so a few words exchanged and told him I would get it serviced privately, best of all the salesman rang me back later talking about buying the new car, explained the situation and said I will be taking my business elsewhere, hard enough trying to live through this pandemic without Jaguar being so contrary.

I had both my second and third services done by my trusted independent. I'd rather use someone who cares about my custom, and it didn't have any negative affect on subsequent warranty claims.

Good luck finding someone you can trust!

Warranty is not the same as service. i.e. just because you have a warranty doesn't mean you get free service. Warranty is for when a component (that is not deemed a wear item) on the vehicle fails before it's predetermined lifetime. Warranty does not mean free oil changes.

Agreed, but it sounds like powerhouse has a 3 year service agreement with his dealer, who wants to renege on the deal because the schedule was missed due to covid circumstances beyond his control. Great way to hang on to loyal customers, eh?

Its mind blowing that a dealer would cut its own throat for future sales.

Here in Germany this is almost normal. Mercedes and BMW (I drove AMG´s and 750´s) had been very unprofessional to repair in warranty time. I told them, I will never buy Mercedes and BMW - no reaction.

They spent a lot of money in advertising to find new customers - may be its cheaper than to care for existing customers.

BMW and Mercedes convinced me to buy Corvette (1xC5, 4xC6, 1xC7) and Jaguar (XKR and now F-Type). I´ve never had problems with this brands, the mechanic´s are professional.

Jag has had free included services as part of vehicle warranty for yrs. Up until 2020, you could get a free service, per checksheet, every 16k miles(depending on engine and model) or 1 yr. Some customers get 5 free services which include air, pollen, and other maintenance pieces done for free.

you may have took me up wrong but I had a 3 year service agreement, not looking for anything for nothing but in the circumstances they should service the car , but their future loss

That is not correct. The "service/maintenance" plans for the F-Type changed over the years:
