Default 15 R Coupe - Suspension & Handling Question

I previously owned an F-Type Vert V8S, just bought this V8R Coupe with 30k miles and a clean carfax. It's been a year or two since my last F-Type but to my memory this one is handling differently. When making somewhat aggressive turn-in over 50 or 60mph it seems a little unpredictable and uneven turn-in, and sort of wanders while turning at those speeds. Hard to explain but I guess the turn-in seems too progressive, the car will sharply turn-in after the very first turn of the wheel. Even a quick lane change on the highway seems a little unsettling, gentle lane changes or turns are fine.

The car is all stock and has been inspected, I think the most obvious culprit is the dealership put new crap tires on the rear (LionHart LH-Five) and the fronts are PS4S, would that be enough to cause what I'm describing? PSI is all at 37 currently.

I am within a 7 day return window from the dealership so I obviously want to be sure this isn't a sign of something more serious or unreported crash damage but there are no signs of a previous crash or repair.

The PS4S should be 40psi. Never heard of that rear tire brand. What is the date-code on the tires? If you like the car and only the tires are the issue, may be optimal just to get the tires replaced with new PS4S or 5S (or another good tire that is not Pirelli P-Zero which suck).

Your front tires are UHP summer tires, and the rears are UHP all-seasons (according to the Internet.) Personally, I wouldn’t mix tire types like that.

Did the early cars need higher pressures? My MY18 spec says 37psi.

Having crap Chinese A/S rear tires and superb French summer front tires could cause what you are feeling. Get you some PS4S’s for the rear.

If the dealer won't put PS4S in the rear, have them put MATCHING LionHeart tires in the front. Your car is definitely 'unbalanced' with those different-spec tires.

Our car wore out the rear tires twice as fast as fronts. Too much fun, I guess!

We have a friend who has installed LionHeart tires on his XK, no complaints after 2 years.

BTW, the door pillar placard on our 2014 V6 specifies: 36 PSI all around (cold) with the OEM-size tires (295 rears).

As CarBuff says, the original spec was 36psi. Personally, I like 38psi all around with the PS4S.

Wheel alignment could be off and cause this, but I guess that has been checked.

I haven't checked it, I was wondering if the prior owner had messed with toe-in angle or something. Definitely planning on an alignment when the tires are replaced.

The Pirelli P-Zero are stock and PSI on the door label are for that tire. Michelin Pilot Sports 4S have a diffeent optimal PSI. I talked to Michelin support and they recommended 40 PSI.

I would get all matching tires. You've got Michelin tires with stiffer sidewalls on the front and a budget tire with soft sidewalls on the rear.
