Hi All,
Been a long time since I posted here. was painful to visit the forum after my 2016 V6S was totaled by a jackass...so I took a hiatus.
Anyway, I am now getting ready to lease a f type R and was wondering if I should stick to a 2016 or go for a 2017. As you all know, the 2016 are about $20k less than a 2017, but I am the kinda guy who likes to get the latest model of anything. But having said that, I am not sure if there are any significant improvements to the 2017 model.
So I guess my question to you all is this: Is the 2017 f type R significantly improved over the 2016 to justify the $20k price difference, or should I just go for a 2016 R?
thanks!

The negotiating power you currently have on them is fantastic as they are trying hard to move them for the incoming 17s. There are no significant changes at all really between the model years that matters. Slightly changed entertainment front end, some small changes in the vents but other than that the only significant change come with the SVR as opposed to the other models. The base 17 is somewhat cheaper but thats not what your looking at. Getting a new 16 R at massive discount still get you full warranty, full maintenance and you can pocket the cash difference. Also the lease rates are low.

The 20k difference I've noted is just from browsing dealer inventories...a similarly loaded '16R is going for 96k and the '17R I built on the jag website for about 116k.
But you guys have made it clear that the '17R isn't worth the extra cash...although I'm curious what changes to the entertainment system...? Because it could've used some tweaking.

I have a 17 R Coupe. I don't know if it's luck of the cards or if Jaguar finally fixed the serious rattling issues and distorted audio problem reported here by so many members and it's an existing problem to this this date.
My 2017 R Coupe has zero rattles and the stereo works perfectly with respect to the sound & speakers.
Go figure ...
