Default 1st Road Trip impressions - R Coupe

We made a trip earlier this week (Monday to Thursday) to pick up our '21 R Coupe from Rhode Island and bring her home to Georgia.

About a 1300 mile trip.

What a BLAST! I was really surprised at just how comfortable the trip was. Great seats and the luggage fit.

We've had M3's for the last 20 years and I thought those were fun.

More later....

Now that’s the way to buy a car. Good long road trip to get to know her!

Yep, you'll love it. And. if you want to get a little more attitude out of the exhaust system, pull the "active exhaust" fuse....this fuse is in the line that controls the electrical impulses to open and close the baffles in the exhaust system. It's fuse #15 and you can easily see it's location in the Owner's Manual, pages 247 & 248. When you pull that fuse, the exhaust baffles stay open all the time. Allows the exhaust to never be muted, gives it that "I got 575 HP" sound and doesn't hurt one thing in the car's powertrain or damage your warranty. A whole bunch of us have done it and most love it!

Nice looking car. Is it Santorini Black ? I like the chrome trim and standard wheels, it adds just enough contrast to a dark colored car. Sounds like a fun trip. The longest I have driven mine in one stretch so far has been three hours and I experienced no discomfort from the seats at all.

Yes it is Santorini Black. Tan w/ Ebony interior.

So far we love the car. It's not exactly the car I planned to order but we are very happy with the way it's spec's.

Default Fuse 15

I thought the fuse 15 thing only worked for earlier models? Like pre 17 or 18?

Upon receipt, I immediately drove from SF area to Tahoe in the summer. I had made that trip to Tahoe and beyond 100s of times in my 1995 YJ Wrangler with a approx 112 horsepower 2.5L 4 cylinder. Sure, it's the Jurassic Park era Jeep, but rolling up hill where touching the accelerator actually *does something*? Oh my goodness I was cackling the whole way. Sorta miss that joy of the first time of driving it.
