Well it’s gone now, my friend Mark was going to buy it and came to an agreement with the owner on a price only to get a call later today from the guy saying he sold it to a friend of his despite his agreement with my friend. Sad but just goes to show that some things are not meant to be and my friend Mark’s search will continue.
Thanks to Unhingd for the lead however as it was almost the perfect buy for him. There will be others.

I think you have to ask yourself how good can a 7 year old car with only5K miles really be?
Components, fluids all deteriorate over time whether the car is driven or not.
In many respects it is better to drive. Fluids need to circulate to keep seals from deteriorating.
Fluids age out and need changing regardless. Tires get dry rot. Batteries die, even when trickle charged.
It is all about how well maintained and serviced, but one should not assume low miles necessarily means great mechanical condition

There can be thousands of reasons why a car may not have many miles on it and it does not mean that they are not well taken care of. Some of the reasons could be; a car collector, multi car family, death in the family, illness in the family or self, financial reasons, a world wide pandemic and lock down, many reasons but it doesn't mean that the people didn't love and care for their cars even if they didn't drive them much.
Just like in my case. I bought my car in 2013 shortly after they first came out. about a year after I bought it I was diagnosed with an incurable cancer. For the next year I went through massive chemo-therapy and a Stem Cell Transplant. It then took my about 2 years to recover to semi normal, to be able to do normal things again and get out and about (I didn't have an immune system and needed to stay away from people), that was about 3 years total out of my life and because I am immune-compromised I take this Pandemic Very Seriously. BUT I still did take the car in for it's annual service every year regardless of mileage. The first year I was sick the service manager asked where I took the car because it only had about 20 miles on it since the last service, I took it home and parked it while I almost died and I was very happy to be able to bring it back for service that year. Yes I still have the original Pirelli tires on it that I may change to PS4s just do to age but I don't race my car or do donuts or burnouts so they may just last a little longer. I also still have the original battery in it, I keep a CTEC charger on it when I"m not driving it and I've never had a problem with it. I have never had to take the car in for any kind of repair other than for regular service, so very fortunate there. The car is always parked in my garage with it's cover on it and does get regular wax jobs, either by myself or a paint specialist (don't ever call him a detailer) that does concourse type cars.
So just because a car has low miles doesn't mean it wasn't loved and taken care of. And just like when buying any care you need to do your research on the cars history and why it is being sold if possible.

Glad you are doing better WayneB. I agree. I bought my one owner 2014 V8S in Jan. this year with 4700 miles. It was purchased in Sept. of 2013 and received an oil change every year. Still has the original battery. I replaced the original tires, didn't feel safe on 8 year old tires. I have only driven it 800 miles. Too many projects around the house. Haven't had any issues and everything works as it should. Even the stereo sounds good, no distortion. It's a 3rd car between 2 drivers. I'm usually driving the F-150 and picking stuff up. I'll never get tired of the exhaust note and its cracks and pops.

Well an interesting update. The “friend” turned out to be the Westminster MD Toyota dealership who inside of 6 hours has it listed for $52000. Now they certainly didn’t give the guy $52k and my friends off that they guy accepted was $46k before the thing fell apart. Lots of bad karma all the way around on this one.
