We got the chance to run the V8S convertible at the track yesterday.

Only mods are 400 cell cats, and a tune, everything else stock in the driveline, so yes stock pulleys. PS4S tyres with 2 years of street driving on them.

Best run of the day was 11.277 @ 126.76mph, did a couple of 11.3 & 11.4 as well, all 126+mph traps

Got the car on the weighbridge at scrutineering, weighed in at 1860.5kg incl driver, that's 4102lbs, the online calculators make 126.76mph & 4102lbs to be ~644hp

What tune do you have? Vap? Finally we get some love for the v8s. Everyone has the R models

 

It's a custom tune, from the same guy who did the tune in my XKR.

My mate was lucky to get as many runs as he did, under the IHRA rules at our track a convertible needs a full cage to run quicker than 11.5

It wasn't until the just before the last run that he was told to "slow it down" and he was asked to leave after that, in a nice polite way though, no animosity.

Interesting to see this slip 2014 Jaguar F-Type V8S 1/4 mile Drag Racing timeslip specs 0-60 - DragTimes.com from Philly Single; drag radials, tune, pulley, ported supercharger, water/meth injection... but only 2/10ths quicker and actually 1mph slower in the trap.

 

Cambo, those are some great times! I had a 87 Monte Carlo back in the day that was modified for drag racing with a stroked nitrous motor making 647hp and that’s what it ran 11.21 every pass. So your estimated power is right there. Bravo !!
as far as Philly... if he is/was in the philly area the humidity here probably robbed him of some power and thus lower numbers, or your tune is just fabulous.

I'd be interested to have a 'bunch' of S's and R's (RWD's) and see what the variations are.

Good results though.

 

11.2 with 126mph terminal is very impressive

Seems to be about 0.6 secs faster than a standard V8 R
