Hi All,

I am aware that there are other threads on this, but with different vehicles. I just had my F into the dealer last Thursday, and without even asking me, they performed the CPU flash that kills the Jag's sound. I have spoken to the Assistant Service Manager, and he is looking into it, but does anyone know if they had a version 2 flash that brings it back for disgruntled customers?

I'm feeling between a rock and a hard place, as this is one of the MAJOR reasons I purchased this car. Seems rather unfair that they can remove one of the most motivating aspects for purchasing after the fact and without consent. I fell completely ripped-off, and unsure what recourse I may have.

I am aware that I can get a VAP or other tuner and have it programmed back in, however I don't really want to part with the money to get back what I already have, and I see zero benefit from the power bump (not racing it at our track because the track is too small for the car)...

Hopefully they just lie to me and say it was a vacuum tube for the exhaust (as they secretly reflash it with another update) and I get my old cat back....

So quick update:

Everything is fine, they didn't flash the ECU with the update, but I am guessing they disconnected the battery. Either the car was trying to safely learn the real limits for normal operation, and was just dialing back the aggressive popping for safety (most likely), or my vacuum tube was stuck and worked itself out (not sure how this would happen).

Either way, the car is back to normal and I am a happy camper today!
