2015 Side skirts and front winglets wrapped.
There's been quite a discussion regarding the fat new side skirts fitted to the new model F's.
I left them IRR for a couple of months before covering them, to be sure that it was what I wanted.
Having had a 2014 V8S with black skirts, I knew that this combo worked well. The new V8R only came with colour coded side skirts, front winglets and rear Venturi and no black option.
I looked at going carbon, but thought it was a bit too 'blingy' for me, and anyone that knows, knows that they don't come in carbon, if you know what I mean. So I went for piano black, in keeping the rest of the car, and a covering of xpel ultimate on top for good measure.
Went out for a blatt this evening and took some photos on the Isle of Portland - Portland Bill Lighthouse to be exact.
It really takes away the 'fat' look of the colour coded skirts IMO.

I totally agree that it makes the car look like it lost some weight, and shows off a few more curves. I've done my winglets in CF and I think I'll do the side skirts the same...
Did you do the wrap yourself? Did you remove the skirts or just wrap them while on the car? I think the older skirts are a little easier to wrap as they don't have the curve and bulge near the rear like the 2016s do.

The whole car has had a full custom front to back xpel ultimate PPF applied (edges, lips, returns and bonnet covered on one piece) at great expense by a company that specialises in PPF.
They did the skirts whilst fitted to the car, but I'm not overly happy with the result as, with the best will in the world, you just can't get it down tight along the top edge where it meets the bodywork. This invariably leaves it open to the elements. The installers, weren't overly happy either, and suggested that if I could remove them, they would do them properly - something that I will do once the English winter sets in.
The older 2013/14 skirts were pretty flat, the newer models have the compound curve towards the rear wheel to deal with. Xpel's templates call for a cut to alleviate any creases, but the guys that did mine manage to cover and lay expel over the top without any cuts or stretch marks, which I thought was impressive.
