Default 2016 Brake Caliper Covers

I just bought a new base F-Type (with 20's) and in addition to getting ready to have it lowered and spaced, I am embarrassed by how cheap looking the brake calipers look.

I know that there are complaints of overheating, but I would like to find nice red caliper covers and cannot find any anywhere. Does anyone have sources? And do you know if the calipers on the 2016 are the same as a 2015?

Thanks in advance!

I put caliper covers on my Corvette and they looked like trash. I ended up painting the calipers. There are guys who powdercoat, the best solution.

I am leasing so don't want to paint. Thoughts on replacement calipers?

paint or powdercoating the calipers won't be an issue with the lease.

i don't see any manufacturers that have an aftermarket system for the f-type.

Agreed. Don't see painted calipers affecting the lease in any way.
Cheaper to paint than buy all new calipers...

Painting them will absolutely affect the lease. The car will not be in stock form and they will ding me for the cost...

And while I understand that covers are anathemetic to you guys, does anyone know who makes them for this car?

As always, thank you!

It's just too early in the F-Type product cycle for anything like caliper covers to be available yet. You are watching the development of aftermarket components unfold right here on this forum.

Here is a set for an XK with 18" wheels that might fit. Worth ordering and returning if they don't fit:MGP® - Jaguar XK-Type 2014 Caliper Covers with Jaguar / Leaper Logo Engraving

I don't have any leads, but I wanted to say that I do understand your concern. I was looking for caliper covers myself because I didn't want to mess with my leased car.
After seeing the return process though, I wouldn't be so concerned. I don't think they will even notice if you paint it a standard color like red.
You may also want to talk to your dealer as they may be ok with you making a small modification. Good luck either way.

Default Brakes ....

I chose Stop Tech over Brembo back when I changed my BMW M5 sedan brakes. They make incredible brake systems!

Default Red Calipers

In my case, the dealer painted the calipers as part of the deal. I heard it costs around $500.

My originally red calippers were delivered as a "black option" for the R. Very happy with that as it seems like it is painted with good quality paint and easy to keep clean.

AP sells calipers separately with different sized pistons. Somebody could spec out a set to work with the stock master cylinder and fab up some custom mounting hardware for a solution.

LOL.

Just paint them red or whatever. You can do it yourself pretty easily for a few bucks. Caliper paint or engine paint will work.

When its time to turn car in, (and if you feel you must), hit them with a $5 can of silver paint. Done.

Or just say the factory paint came off (it probably will) and you had to paint them.
