Default 2016 Hood Vent & supercharger Cover Mod

Just completed this upgrade. I am the third owner of this 2016 V6S. It must have lived at least part of the time outside in Sacramento.

Supercharger off. Valve cover screws.

Sound insulation between the supercharger and block. Remove it! Holds water.

That was fixed at purchase along with all aluminum cooling system components.

Just finished upgrading the hood vents. My DD is blacked out. I’m kinda over that. But to each his own. I like a touch of chrome on the Jag.

A “touch” of chrome.

Mina Gallery. Custom order.

but WAAAY more open. So I upgraded the supercharger cover to better shed water.

Underside of supercharger cover. Removed sound insulation. Ground off “nubs”

Underside of supercharger cover. Cut off extra ear with my right angle grinder and a thin cut off wheel. Ground support slots in each end.

Underside of supercharger cover. Added EPDM flaps that I screwed on and glued on with Superglue. Yes, the white is where the paper towel I was using to wipe, glued itself on. The blue is the fingertips of the gloves I was wearing.

Finished from right side. Blacked out SS head screws. This side has the cut off tab.

Finished from left side.

Smart touch with the bolts for the flaps. I did that mod some time ago too and tried to glue the flaps with super glue and some kind of high temp glue but it won't hold so screwing them in place looks like a good idea.

Did you remove the foam under the engine cover?

Yes. Part of it was pretty deteriorated anyways. It’s sound insulation, and I’m happy to hear the supercharger whine.
