It's habit forming isn't it? I'm out for lunch. I think it's time for some sushi!

I expect a longer playlist when I get back.

May 5, 6, 7, 8, 2016

[All details are still subject to change]

Thursday May 5

· 3:00 PM (Depending on interest): A private beer tasting – back room sort of stuff –at a nearby brewery with beers typically not sold to the general public.

· 7:00 PM: Lobster (whole lobster for those inclined) dinner at my friend, famed restaurateur, Dana Street’s new restaurant, on the wharf, Scales.

Friday May 6

· 8:00 AM: Meet in lobby of The Press Hotel: http://www.thepresshotel.com/ followed by short walk to The [Henry] Wadsworth-Longfellow House: http://www.hwlongfellow.org/house_wlh_overview.shtml; Breakfast outdoors in the lovely Longfellow Garden followed by a private tour of the house. Coffee provided by my absolute favorite local coffee house, The Speckled Axe: http://www.mattscoffee.com/; fabulous bagels, butter (from my friends who own Casco Bay Butter; http://www.cascobaybutter.com/, best butter on the planet), cream cheese, lox, etc. provided by Union Bagel: http://unionbagel.com/ with my dear friends Matt James & Alison Prey, owners of Standard Bakery (the standard by which all bakeries should be measured by) http://standardbakingco.com/ supplying their incomparable signature Lemon Tart for our morning sweet treat.

· 10:30 AM: Group drive to Freeport, Maine & L.L. Bean: http://www.llbean.com/ and, if the timing is right, meeting the newly appointed CEO/President. Thankfully, L.L. Bean ships – free – so no need to use F-Type boot for purchases made.

· 12:30/1:00 PM: Lunch delivered to L.L. Bean from Libby’sMarket – owned by close friends Tina & Danny - in Brunswick and mini versions of their famous lobster and/or crab rolls.

· 4:00-5:00 PM: Meet for drinks in The Press Hotel and The Inkwell [or Union]. http://www.thepresshotel.com/the-inkwell

· 7:00 PM: Short walk to dinner at Paciarino.http://www.paciarino.com/ owned by dear friends, Enrico & Fabiana, from Milan, where we’ll start with a Prosecco toast followed by a Lobster-themed authentic Italian dinner.

Saturday May 7

· 6:45 AM: Meet in lobby of The Press Hotel for drive (in cars by 7:00 and on the road) – approximately 30 minutes - to Topsham, Maine and Blueberries. http://www.facebook.com/blueberriesfood Blueberry pancakes, cinnamon French toast (with real Maine Maple syrup of course), breakfast sandwiches, are just some of the many stars here, not to mention my buddy Drew Victory who owns it. And...THE best Whoopie Pies you’ve ever had!

· 9:00AM: Depart Blueberries for parts north and OwlsHead Transportation Museum. http://owlshead.org/ (docent-led tour of an amazing collection of automobiles, art,and historic aircraft).

· 12:00/1:00 PM: catered lunch delivered to Owls Head Transportation Museum from The Brass Compass Café. http://thebrasscompasscafe.com/ (Owner Lynn Archer’s famous Lobster Club bested Bobby Flay’s Throw Down).

· 2:00 PM: Depart Owls Head for short drive to Rockland and The Farnsworth Museum. http://www.farnsworthmuseum.org/ (docent-led tour of everything Wyeth; N.C., Andrew, and Jamie). Stunning!

· 4:30/5:00 PM: Depart Farnsworth and head south back to The Press Hotel.

Just keeps getting better. Wayne Carini is ready to greet the convoy on the way as we pass through Connecticut on Thursday on the way up.

Also I would be remiss if I didn't add to the theme song effort with at least a tribute to Glen Frey who we tragically lost and will greatly miss......Take it easy Glen, may we all "Take It easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
and take it easy

Excellent. Well done! David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Glenn Frey. If these aren't [somber] reminders to enjoy life each and every day, including driving your F-Type, I don't know what is.

I just e-mailed you the itinerary - with pictures - and apologies for the delay (big e-mail issues much of the day). Hopefully you received it by now?

Best regards,
Jay

I'm in mourning about never again being able to see Glen Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmidt together on stage. RIP GF.

Jay, for organizational purposes, do you think you can edit the original post of this thread to include the latest itinerary, the doodle signup, and the hotel information? I was able to find it all by combing the thread, but the haystack will continue to grow between now and then.

Nati: As far as I'm concerned, and considering there's a finite time period allowed for personal edits, I'm perfectly fine if any of the MODS*** here would like to "delete" any previously posted itinerary and "cut straight to the chase" and this last posting I've made. [re] the doodle sign up: that was the doing of our Unhinged F-Typer (in other words, while he has kept me/us in the loop I personally have no control, or knowledge, of how that works). If you would send me your e-mail address to (jay@enerjay.com) I would be happy to send you the itinerary including some pictures as well as a link/contact info to/for the hotel. With pleasure.

Hope you will join our growing group of merry men and women.

Best regards,
Jay

***Here's an idea: Delete the entire thread and simply post this last itinerary - under a newly created thread - and maybe U can post a new "doodle"????

Default Link To Hotel

Group Corporate Travel Booking Page

I can also suggest - and would if I were you - calling in your reservation to:

Josef Kijewski
Rooms & Revenue Supervisor
207.808.8723
jkijewski@thepresshotel.com

That link is for those arriving on Thursday and departing on Sunday but, as Josef has told me, the user (you) can reduce the length of their stay [still] using the above link

Too many amazing rock legends from our day are passing before our very own ears......, and it is a sad feeling for sure....! I am starting to feel, that "this is the end, the end of the innocence". As Joan Jett wrote...."I love rock n roll, put another dime in the jukebox baby". Love the thread thus far with the playlists. i have a million of them, but enjoying the similar tastes in the fine "vibe" of the greatest....!

Foosh, besides our F-types, this is another thing we have in common. I felt this way about Led Zep. as well, when Bonzo died, and never buying another new totally Zep album, or The Beatles, Jimi, Janis, Stevie Ray V....the list goes on. Bowie was too close to home, as was Frey, the drummer from Mott d Hoople, and on and on and on.

As Ricky stated.....every day is a gift, and our F-Types and enjoying them is a part of this gift. People that are good and around us in our lives with each and every interaction is "perfection" when nice meets nice. Our world has changed, our Rock will never change and defines who we all are. Peace brother.

Is it too late to sign up? I don't eat lobster, so there will be plenty for everyone else!
