For me, the throws are way too long than they should be.
+1. Way too long. As of 2 months ago, none of the short shift manufacturers were able to confirm the F-Type fit with the kits from the 235 and 335 series BMWs which use the same ZF tranny. That might have changed by now. Time to make calls again.

Do you know which aftermarket companies for the BMW, and what years?

UUC and ECS Tuning carry a wide range of short shifter kits for BMWs. All I can say with certainty is that recent year (2011+) 135i, 235i and 335i use the ZF S6-45 tranny that is the same as ours. However, each of those BMW models have different model numbers on their short shift kits, probably based on where the shifter come through the tunnel for that particular model. Since the MT F-Types have only been around for the past 90 days,it may be awhile until someone looks at fitting and building those kits.

There is another thread about a guy researching the short throw.... it should be near the top.

Also...

long press the valet button (20sec+) and you get a secret hidden menu.

Emergency / Parking Break:

Does anyone know if it works like an analog one? I was going down my driveway and about to park and accidentally spaced out on the convertible top vs parking break (first few days of owning).... About 7 mph I flip the parking break up, and my car DEAD stops. Glad to know it works, especially in the action movie "brakes are out think fast" situation....

but if I held that up at 60mph would it engage, for real? Scares me that I might catch or hook it somehow.

Did you see my response in the other thread?

Granted, this is from before the MT was introduced, so it may operate differently in your car.

Holding up the parking brake at 60 mph (in my MT ) will gently slow the car to a stop. A true emergency brake.

Default Cup holder sizing pursuit

So it looks like one of the coffee places I frequent has cups that fit this perfectly. It was a 400 mile commute day, so it was two iced coffees for me. They are 476 milliliters which comes out to 15.89 fluid ounces or so. Obviously, it's basically a 16 ounce plastic cup. It is almost flush with the holder, but definitely flush with the armrest. I didn't think about the cups during the entire drive, really. If anyone can find a proper cup shaped like the plastic ones, I think we'd be in business.

FOUND THEM. Identical to the plastic ones, and w/a silicon lid I bet it rises just slightly, but if you shove a straw through it, I am sure they will angle outward.....

16oz CupsCo Stainless Steel Cup | CupsCo

4.75" tall while still being 16oz. I am excited.

Also, I have an addiction to cups.... as one can see.
