I just recently purchased a rebuilt title 2016 F-Type S with 29k miles. It looks and drives great and has no error indication on the dash! However, I hooked up my Autel MP808TS and my Launch scan tools and got the same results.
BCM - DTC U2300-54 - Central Configuration
GWM - DTC B1412-96 - Quiescent Relay Box
IPMB - U0140-08 - Lost communication with BCM.
As the vehicle obviously has 0 warranty and could potentially still have issues from the previous owners accident, I wanted to check with the community on the ability for me to get the SDD software to program the BCM and other modules properly to factory specs if for some reason something is off. I'd prefer to DIY instead of taking it to the dealer, but I'm new to the Jag community. Any thoughts, links, direction would be appreciated. I also do not have the build sheet or window sticker. I'm assuming the software would help get that information? Or is there a genius in the community that could run the VIN?
You can run a replica window sticker at monroneylabels.com for a small fee. It's fairly complete. Here's the sticker I had them provide for my recent purchase:
No matter what it says on the battery have the battery replaced, and reset the modules through Sdd,if you're not familiar with that have it done at the dealer, all modules in Jaguars and Range rovers must see full battery capacity, if not the car won't be happy, also get a C-tec battery maintainer if not driven often, just a little help
Thanks! if I get an SDD package without subscription, will I be able to reset the modules? I come from GM where I had a subscription and was able to program modules with updates. I was "assuming" that Jaguar would not be much different. I attempted to reset them with my Autel without success (of course).
You can purchase a icarsoft v3 for Range rover and Jaguar (specific),I'll be making a video how to do it soon ,I did it on a xj F,-type and a Range Rover, fairly simple to do, all modules will be reset, just remember all newer cars from 2010 on up have a lot of modules relying on battery voltage ⚡️ to keep them efficient
It should, but the icarsoft v3 works every time ,I have SDD also, but I've found icarsoft is quicker to use gets the job done, ,some time's I use simple units that gets the job done

From what threads here have said, the cars sometimes are exactly like what the sticker says and sometimes not. But Jaguar being Jaguar, who know what was and wasn't in part stock as it moved through the line. The MY2017 coupe I have was missing the two bolts that hold the right side headlight assembly in position. This car was built in late 2016, sold new in 2017 and I got it in fall of 2020, undiscovered until then....
Thanks. Assuming it's pretty straight forward? Clearing that "Configuration" issue is my goal. Not sure what "delete" option or other needs to be done to get it reset on the BCM.

Dennis: Be sure to let me know when you get that video made. Thanks

I purchased the iCarSoft V3 and it does nothing more than my autel does. There is no module reset/reprogram. The "code clear" is the same and doesn't clear the code. Unless there's a hidden menu, it's just no different.
What happens with newer cars they will always have DTC codes in the winter especially if not driven regularly, doesn't mean anything is wrong, but when you start your car up the alternator doesn't start charging right away, and if you do small trips to work it doesn't fully get charged so you'll get a few modules that don't respond like in this new Defender
Then I simply clear it and all well
so Iinstalling a new battery i use my icarsoft, even though i have pathfinder and SDD
Lot quicker for me
I have alot of diagnostic equipment

Nice. I've also noticed that keyfob programming is not a thing in these Autels and others. Does SDD access the KVM properly and allow for clearing and adding fobs? Or is it only the "hacks" ACDP stuff out there that can do it? The previous owner "lost" the second fob. So I'd like to remove that one so they don't "find it" and take my car at some point. As well as programming a new fob as a second.
Yes SDD does but you have to follow specific
procedures, depending on your situation
If you have a F-type drive it in the winter for at least 20 to 30mins

I'm sure the fob programming with SDD isn't as intense as ACDP pulling the KVM and wiring to the points on the board.
