2017 FType 3.0 S Warranty Extension
My current Warranty for my FType expires soon and to extend this is costly, I do not do very high mileage (30 500km in 5 years), my car is a daily driver (but I am retired)....my concern is can I expect any costly surprises if I choose not to extend this warranty based on the age and usage of this car? Any feedback would be worthwhile to help me make this decision.

You may or may not have costly repairs in your future (that's the surprise part). Certainly, if you have a major repair, it's apt to be expensive. The warranty companies know that and price their product, accordingly. If you extend the warranty, you'll guarantee a significant outlay up front. It may or may not save you from an expensive surprise. But, you can figure that the warranty company is planning to put at least half your premium towards a new boat. Do it if you'll feel better with a guaranteed loss vs the risk of something worse. It's a peace-of-mind purchase, so make sure there's something behind it. Make sure the warranty company will be around when you need them. Many are famous for denying repairs or directing you to substandard shops.

Have you determmined how much it costs to extend your JLR original 5 year warranty to 6 years or 7 years?
I would check out the JLR rates before buying a 3rd party policy - at least you'll know work will done by a Jag dealer using Jag parts..
Then you can decide how much the risk is worth. From reading some of the stories on this forum, it might well be worth buying the coverage.

Be careful of the JLR warranty extensions. In Australia at least, they are just a Jaguar branded insurance product. When I read the terms, I actually couldnt find anything that was covered as virtually anything that I could think of was excluded.
I ended up buying a non Jaguar extension which was a full manufacturer's warranty extension. I made a claim for one or two wheel bearings and I think an oil sensor leak, so I think it just about paid for itself.
