I'm new to the forum, and to Jags, so go easy on me here, and I acknowledge this may be a bit like asking how long is a piece of string, but...

I'm considering options - 2017 R or 2018 R-dynamic, for roughly the same price. My question is, other than the obvious performance differences, were there any significant issues with the '17s that were addressed in the '18 MY? I know there were some cosmetic differences, but haven't found a good 17 vs 18 comparison.

The R or R AWD is a v8 550hp engine and the R Dynamic is only the 2.0 litre version.

Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't state it very clearly, but I'm familiar with the engine differences. I was more wondering if there were problems or issues with the 2017 that were fixed in '18. I know there were cosmetic changes (new headlights, etc), but is there something I should be wary of in a 17?

the R dymamic is also V6 340 or 380HP

 

As far as I know, the cosmetic changes where the big change along with the seats, which I like better in the 18. Other than that mechanical, I think, are the same.

 

nothing that I'm aware off, problem wise, that has been fixed on a 18
