2017 Web Configurator available
Seems a bit broken per usual, only more so - adding the black pack to the base premium adds $12K of everything including the full leather and carbon roof! You would think that given this is likely to be the first point of customer contact they'd have got it right by now.
Old news, but interesting to note (the numbers appear all on the same page) that the lowly no option bottom line base auto is quicker 0-60 that the 'S' *Manual* by 0.2 secs, and costs at least $17K LESS. Oh, sure the 'S' has other stuff but in the bang for the buck dept, the base does well.

I played around with the configurator last night.
I was surprised by a few things:
1. The entry level Base is very bare-bones and very few options can be had, unless you upgrade to the Premium Base
2. Many of the options for a Premium Base come bundled... play with it and watch the price go up! For sh*ts and giggles, I entered all of the options my old '15 Base Coupe had and and it came out to an astonishing $10K more than what I paid at the time... this will make the highly optioned used market a great value over new.
Whoever bought my low mileage, optioned out Base Coupe got one hell of a bargain vs. buying the same car in '17 !!!
3. "S" pricing also seems higher than in previous MY's. Same thing with the bundles. A fully optioned AWD S is only a few thousand less than an R... this makes the R a little more attractive and justifiable. RWD S still about 10K less.
4. The R optioned the same as my '16 came out to be about $1,200 more which I didn't find too crazy.
But again, middle of the range seems very pricey with options vs. previous model years.

+1. The clutch might still be slipping, but with over 420 horses, I'm probably running even with any V6S out there, automatic or not. As soon as the short shifter is in place and I have a good clutch built, I was indeed planning on doing some runs on a local drag strip this summer.

After subtracting the carbon fiber roof that the configurator kept adding, duplicating my loaded '16 with an equal Premium '17 would cost $3,700 extra. Configurator wanted to add red interior if I went with the glass roof.

Played with the configurator again, and it looks like my '16 loaded Base would only be up $1,500 for '17. The configurator keeps adding in the $2,200 Extended Upper Leather Environment. And it likes adding the Carbon Fiber roof with most of the interior upgrades, but if you switch back to the glass roof, it adds in the Red interior. Talk to your dealer.
