Thanks Stark911! The dealer told me they had to put the plate bracket on because its the law- yes well the OTHER Jag dealer and Audi dealers have all "accidently" left it off. So when I showed up for delivery they told me they would have to pull the whole front bumper. I told them hard pass. When I got home I used the your post- 10 minutes later (5 were spent trying to find my vice grips) and perfect- no more bracket. I sent this link to the service manager- LOL

How did y’all get it out so easily? I’ve loosened the bolt so it’s essentially flush with the bracket but I can’t get the mechanism turned horizontal. I’ve been fiddling with it for like 20 minutes. I’m about to buy this dremel tool and cut through the plastic at this point.

Are you using vice-grip and turning clockwise? I did not see the year of your car- but if a few years old, it might need a little "bump" to losen.

Mine is a '21. Define "bump" for me if you please. I don't know how I would angle a hammer in there given how small the clamps are and how tiny the openings on the grill are.

Also I used needle-nose pliers to turn the bolt loose so it's flush with the clamp on the outside. I can't turn the bolt anymore due to how flush it is.

Sorry- I emant a light rap on the bolt from the front as well as a light rap on the overall bracket with a hand to dislodge if needed. Maybe the bracket was overtightened originally. I found I had to use vice grips to get the proper hold. Once it was lose, I just twisted the back of the bracker with my fingers- as it was a bit of a tight fit.

Here is how I removed the brackets. I used Drexel tool and cut a slot on the bolts. Then I used a small flat head screwdriver and backed the bolt out until the piece holding the bracket was loose enough to go horizontal and fit through the grill and the bracket was out. Took about 15 minutes to remove both brackets.
That's the exact process I used, except I used a Dremel tool. It's very easy and takes 15 minutes to remove both brackets. Since the brackets come off intact, they could be reinstalled if there was ever a need to do so, even temporarily.

All: after about 2 hours faffing around with the dremel tool, cursing the person who designed those doggone clamps, I finally got them off. Unfortunately mine weren’t as easy as you all’s were due most likely to the bolt seizing. But either way the grill is now the way God intended.
