Default '22 F-Type R--Elite care service--Rear Diff Drain/Fill

Good afternoon all,
My '22 F-Type just turned 2 years old and dropped it off this morning for the Elite care annual service. The service manager called and he fumbled around trying to tell me that they were having trouble with the rear differential drain and fill. Apparently, there is a connection point on the body for the cross-member that supports the rear diff. They normally have to loosen that cross-member to access the diff to drain and fill. Unfortunately, that connection point involves a nut on the back side that should be welded in-place so the bolt tightens--but, you guessed it, that nut has "broken loose" so they can't fasten the cross-member and they cannot access the backside of that connection point to reattach the nut. He said they were unsure of what to do, but had a bunch of calls out to JLR for options. Anybody run into this before?

Yes, I think that was reported once here. Finding the thread could be a challenge, and I don’t recall the solution.

Here’s a thread that discusses this issue, but with the transfer case rather than diff. You won’t like the solution…

Thank you DJS for tracking that prior thread down for me. Yes, that is, unfortunately, exactly my issue, and I absolutely was wrong in my own post; Transfer case--not differential which is the first thing that came to my mind. You are also correct that I don't like the solution one bit.
Lastly, learned some new terminology: "captive nut" which is now synonymous with "anxiety" for me.

I guess the ‘good’ news is that your car is under warranty, and it was the dealer that broke it.

Indeed, better that it happened now and not post-warranty. I'll update this thread when the dealer gets back to me with the details.

Thanks again!!

You’re welcome. FYI, I’m a native of South Haven and have friends and family in Kazoo.

Thanks DMeister! I did see, but very much appreciate you taking the time to send it. I'll keep everyone posted with what Jaguar intends on doing.
