Default 3.33%...

Just received the fol email from my auto insurance company, USAA:"One result of the COVID-19 pandemic is fewer drivers on the road and fewer accident claims, so we're returning a portion of your premium to you. You will receive an auto policyholder dividend equal to 20% of two months of auto insurance premiums. There is no need to call or take any action. To keep it simple, the following amount will be credited to your next bill:

$87.84
So 2 months is One-Sixth of a year (16.66%) & 20% is another One-Fifth (20%) = 3.33% refunded

Wooo-Hooo!!! This, plus waitin' for our stimulus check (which we don't qualify for). What a week !!!

Lol, same deal with Farm Buero.. of course this is after they had a 6% rate increase on my last renewal for no apparent reason. Insurance, the real root of all evil 👿

Its good that its a little higher than the usual USAA member dividend of late. I'm old enough to remember the real semi-annual checks and lower premiums and great service--all long gone. And since my job is to throw water on bad news disguised as good news:

First, I was a little surprised it wasn't closer to half of my $4000/6 months USAA car insurance premium (driving kids and exotic cars don't mix), since the roads are largely empty nation wide.

Second, insurance execs should study the 30s as part of their critical education, but they are too smart for that. If they weren't so smart, they would know that insurance claims are a popular way out for struggling people as depressions set in, and that far outweighes the reduction in use.

FWIW, Hartford is crediting 15% of 2 months' premium. I'm happy to take it - but <$100.

Meanwhile, I find it ironic that I don't personally qualify for the stimulus, but my sister-in-law does - considering that she died last year.

Mine is giving me a £25 refund, regardless of policy value, which on the F-Type is considerable.

But if you're Illegal, you'll qualify for whole lot more...

Geico reduced rate 15% on next renewl. That means for at least 6 months, and doesn't affect any other reductions I might have gotten.

My USAA dividend was pretty nice this year. I only have one daughter of driving age, but my insurance isn't even half of RacerX's. How many cars and kids do you have?!?!

I want to start a petition to get RacerX off this site, he's obviously a very stable genius. Poeple who are always trying to show evereyone how "smart" they are usually aren't. President pumpkin as an example.

Also note, that under "User Control Panel", there's a "Edit Ignore List" option. I've never used it, but I think that allows you to not see posts from specific users.
