That procedure is for R&R (Remove and Replace) but doesn't answer the question of how to get into it. I think the answer to that is that it's not designed to be serviced other than as a complete unit. Mine had condensation inside and no attempt was made to service the unit itself. It was replaced.

It uses LEDs and all other Jag rear light LEDs I've ever read about are not serviceable, it's a complete new unit or nuffin.
On the F-Type even the overhead console lights are LEDs and even after I removed the console itself from the roof I couldn't see any way to open it up (short of a plasma torch!) to service or replace the LEDs.

Thanks for the info. I've got the full shop manual, but wasn't looking forward to hunting through the 30,000+ pages to find it. I have a flashing module that I will install behind the light that will flash it 5 times before going full red when braking.

For me I want to tap into the power for the 3rd brake light, tried to get in through the rear boot to the back of the rear light, to much trouble, pulled out a bit of the trunk liner then foam round the light and as for trying to see anything, ah I gave up, wonder which wire contains the power
