Yes it is the first TURBO flat 4, that is for sure.

But even all new 911s will be turbo for the new model except for GT3 versions.

I think many enthusiasts have learned to "trust" Porsche. They have been doing a very good job recently.

One of my friends recently drove the new 911 Carrera S that is turbocharged and said it is an absolute rocket, much faster than the old one.

Best part: he said it sounds excellent!

They pipe engine sounds into the cockpit to enhance the experience on the 911! If you never experienced the Porsche with NA then you would probably never miss it, because it is, after all, a Porsche. Let the suckers go spend their money on one; I traded my Cayman S in on my R and I am still smiling. As far as I am concerned, the Porsche is a better autocross and or track car, which I never do anymore. The F-Type has it beat in every other department.

The F-Type apparently pipes it in as well. When I heard that it felt exactly as it did being told Santa wasn't real. I heard both just earlier this week.

I love my F type but still do occasionally miss my Boxster. Had a 2007 S with TPC turbo kit. That added over 100 HP at the wheels. Lots of fun. My wife and I were talking and stopped by the Porsche dealer today to look at what they had for Boxsters in stock. It would be for the wife as I wouldn't get rid of the f type.

Really? That's the first I had heard of that. Can anyone confirm that.

I haven't seen a confirmation that the V6 has it.

I was wondering about that. I'll dig into the engine compartment today and see what I can find.

EDIT: Yes sir.....goes around and around and comes out there: The trumpet mounts right up to the center of the firewall.

Well I'll be. Oh Well at least it isn't electronic through the speakers and it isn't all fake as it is definitely louder with the top down and awesome going through a tunnel.

Exactly . . . it does have redeeming qualities since it is actual engine noise. I suppose it's not all that different from lowering the windows or top to increase the engine sound volume. It's just another route for sound to enter the cabin.

For reference, Porsche system is the same concept as this one.

BUT, F Type does sound way better! One of the reasons I traded in my Porsche for one.
