Had my doubts about going to La Jolla (fancy part of San Diego) yesterday, due to construction in some areas. Sure enough, picked up a 1.5" piece of metal in my Right Rear tire.
Got the warning message almost immediately. Stopped within 3 blocks as the pressure dropped to 0. Long story short, I am out $400.
So, made a nice birthday present for myself - a new Pirelli tire

 

Road hazard warranty?

 

Best insurance I ever got. $1400 for 5 years coverage (wheel, tire & door ding) has already netted me one new tire, two re-facings and a replacement for a cracked wheel.
