Default Advice - Screw in Tire (pic)

First thing first, I'm loving the F-Type, (Jessica) no regrets. Two weeks ago I jumped into Jessica for my Saturday AM drive, realized a tire was low (temp had dropped significantly in Georgia), added some air, no big deal. But then on Monday, the lady who cleans my house saw the F-Type for the first time the following week, she must have really liked Jessica's rims as she noticed a screw in the left rear tire. The dreaded screw... only 700 miles on the F-Type. Pic attached... I plugged the tire myself (added a plug kit to the trunk for emergencies) and have now driven 50-75 miles, but I keep thinking maybe I should just replace the tire, I'm thinking with 700 miles there would be no issues with uneven wear... what do you think?

Spend $450 for piece on mind?

Don't waste $450 you fixed it, lol. Maybe next time at a tire shop maybe they can patch it from the inside somehow.

That size hole can usually be fixed 100% by a professional tyre shop for not many $.
Here in South Oz it costs $30 AU, about $23 US.

It's close ish the sidewall but looks like it should be repairable.

As mentioned by others, you are good to go. If you wanted added piece of mind, spend $30-40 to have it flat patched from the inside.

I had one like that professionally patched and have no concerns about letting it go. Particularly since mine are P-Zeros and I am just looking for an excuse to upgrade to Michelins.

Do you plan on tracking the car on these tires? Might rethink if that's the case. Any chance your insurance covers road damage?

Have it patched by a good tire shop. It totally looks like it is in a patchable location. Don't live with the plug! Should be $25.

Yep; what they said. Take it to a tire shop and have it patched on the inside and they can check to make sure it didn't damage the inside of the sidewall at the same time. Plugs can and do last a long time but I would rather take the time to have it patched properly on a car like this.

This is a good kit to stow away under the trunk. You can leave the EOM kit alone this way.

Ditto on patching...get it done ASAP. It is a bit close to the side wall, but seems to be OK to fix. I had one of these on my BMW and drove it 15K with no issues till I replaced the tires due to wear.

Also, I always go to Americas Tire when the car is new, and buy their full tire warranty. Its a couple of hundred, but well worth it. One replacement and you recover the cost. So far, its been amazing on all my cars.

Default Patch or Replace

It looks like it would be fine with a interior patch (Butler Tire), unless you intend to track the car, if so replace. I would also replace brake fluid with motul 600 or the like if you track the car.
BTW I'm in Duluth, Ga
