Thanks for the feedback on the OBDLink MX+. I have been recommending this one since it auto shuts down and auto powers up BUT I had a few guys with F-Type's report back that even that adapter still kept the car alive and the red triangle was illuminated. I have a 2014 XJR and never had any problems with it draining the battery either. So different cars and different outcomes I guess?

Yes, I use the Torque Pro app on android and use the custom PIDs from Cambo (thank you!)

From what I can conclude reading all of the posts is that it seems like it comes down to the software installed on whether or not it drains the battery. For my model year (2015) it was ok. I have to add that I don’t know what software upgrades the previous owner did. I’ll get the version currently installed and report back here.

I replaced the engine in mine from an XF. As some have said just match the vin to the proper engine. You can also get a 1 year warranty from most recyclers (junk yards). Swap over the accessories, fix the AC, bolt in and drive. Got my engine through a search here - Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

Yeah there’s a couple on there I’m looking at. What do you have to fix about the AC?

I’m sure it’s a pleasure to drive now. I think TAPA actually sent me a video of yours when I texted them. It’s a beautiful car.

just all the freon, dryer receiver , o rings and such since it is really the only other component that has to be dsconnected on an engine swap
