Default Aftermarket Exhaust drone - should I be concerned?

Hi Guys

I have a F Type S Coupe, and thinking of eventually sticking an aftermarket exhaust on it. Something like the Quicksilver or Milltek

My one concern, is that as stock, the car is great at motorway speeds (70-80mph) with no annoying exhaust drone.

Has anyone had any experience with any of these exhausts when cruising at these speeds and can comment?
I believe the Milltek exhaust retains the active valves and could be a bit more appealing, but from my research the look and sound of the QS exhaust seems better..

Thanks in advance

The Quicksilver exhaust sounds fantastic, however it does drone pretty badly.

I fixed this by welding a couple of J pipes on mine, you can check one of my old threads to see some pictures and sound clips.

I'm actually looking to sell mine if you're interested. I'm located in Dubai so while shipping may be a bit expensive, the cost of the exhaust (and the J pipes) will be much lower than buying it brand new.

PM me if you're (or anyone else is) interested.

Thanks for the reply!

Hmm, good to know. Why are you looking to sell it?
And how do the J Pipes help with cutting down the drone? I'm fairly non technical re car mechanics!

Don't suppose you had / have any videos of the exhaust?

Just curious - but what don't you like about the stock exhaust, what are you looking to improve?

I have often changed the exhaust system on previous cars however think Jaguar absolutely nailed it with the stock item.

Actually - I love it.
I think the noise is one of the best parts about driving the car, I just want more of it, ha!

I'm selling it as my mum started complaining about it (long story short but my mum sits and/or drives my car fairly often).

By all means, the Quicksilver exhaust transforms the V6 F Type from a gentle sports car to an exotic in terms of presence. The pops and bangs on the overrun (even if you let go of the throttle at 2.5k RPM, nevermind 4k RPM like you need to at stock) are just fantastic.

You didn't mention it earlier but I'm assuming you have the V6. If you have the V8, you really don't need it. It just makes the exhaust hideously loud. I still remember the day I was parking at my office and there was a V8 F Type behind me. My girlfriend thought it was a Ferrari! That was probably the day I decided to get the Quicksilver!

Yup, the V6S

But a lot of the drives I do here in UK / EU involve long motorway runs to get to, hence the original question re drone
