Default Aftermarket Sport Cats, Part 2

Hello everyone,
We have received a few questions regarding our Sport Cats so I would like to provide additional information to the members of this message board.

SuperSprint uses HJS Motorsport catalytics due to one primary reason, because of the premium quality!

Over the past years, SuperSprint has been offered "alternative" lower cost metallic cats by other companies based in Europe, making the claim of having the same specs and same quality as the HJS units.

Without knowing the actual country of origin and the manufacturing of the product being unknown, from an outside appearance they look almost the same as the HJS monolyths.
We ourselves have never made back to back tests against the proven HJS cats, however some of our customers, most notably German Motor Sport specialists/tuners for BMW have performed their own individual independent testing to verify the validity of HJS Sport Cats.

From a technical standpoint we supplied these German tuners with our catless headers and/or downpipes, based on which car model, they welded the alternative cats into place and made dyno tests, emission tests and durability tests on their own.
Reportedly the result always have been poor, in terms of efficiency, performance, durability.

They experienced low efficiency in reducing emissions, which in turn led to CEL turning on almost imemdiately, high restriction in the exhaust flow rate, ultimately a complete meltdown of the cats inner core under high engine load conditions.

This is expecially true in the case of the later generation sports cars, such as the Jaguar and the Range Rover V8 supercharged models, where the cats are placed close to the engine, therfore the thermal stress on the monolyths is extremely high.

All of our clients continue to request and specifiy the HJS cats on all of their exhausts, due to the failing results of the "other brand" low cost cats, with only very few exceptions among them.

20 years ago Supersprint was possibly the only performance exhaust maker, that was using HJS cats, while most others had been using lower cost/price point components, most likely made in China or other Far East Countries.

Over the years, more and more exhaust companies jumped on the same wagon with us, switching to HJS Motorsport cats in spite of their higher cost; this has been confirmed by the HJS Product Manager in Germany, who reports increasing sales with each year.

Viewing the competitor's own website, they openly advertise and claim to use HJS cats in their exhaust sport cat product.

Some of them claim to offer the same SuperSprint sport cat product with the SuperSprint HJS cat, at a premium price, or a lower cost version being an alternative catalytic. HJS will not sell the SuperSprint Sport Cats to anyone other than SuperSprint Italy.

I hope this information will help to clarify a few key points with the Jaguar F-Type Community.
Thank you.
Respectfully,
Roberto
