I just saw this today and everyone of us Jag guys should be jumping for joy!!
The aftermarket has finally redone the terrible plastic cooling tubes at the front of the engine. They look great and at $250 for both. I think a pretty fair price too. Al. Cooling Pipes
Says for 2013 and up only? Not sure why the earlier 5.0L's are not included?
These are new and untried so caution is urged!

Noooo, I just paid $$$$ to have everything up top replaced/updated! That's okay, I'll just tell myself that the aluminum ones will experience fatique failure due to temperature cycling and . I feel better now, whether or not that's true.
Wow I was just talking about this with my mechanic - really interested to see fitment with these. It's in my plans to deal with the OEM pipes sometime this year.
I just bought a set of these. Thank you. Seems like the "big" issue out there (an LR4 owner in my neighborhood lost his engine and therefore had a totalled car as a result to this issue.....or so he said...).
How many "hours" is typical in a good shop (indy) to do the work needed?
Seems like a no brainer to me to do this work. Did a similar thing on a VW VR6 tube....not unique design issue to Jaguar.
Thanks in advance all - will report back once installed but may be 4-12 weeks...

Do you happen to know the cost/hours of the pipes from your bill....am just looking for a ballpark cost estimate for myself. My shop and your shop will of course be different...

Thanks jb, looking forward to your impressions. And yup this is one of the weak points for the car, especially the earlier cars with the seamed pipes. They break lose and start gushing coolant - if you're not paying attention the car gets hot quickly. If you don't catch it, or try to 'make it' to a good place to stop instead of immediately pulling over... you will cook the motor. There are new and improved plastic 'seamless' pipes you can install from the later models (I think 2018+) but they are still plastic, and potentially still could crack at the ends where the o-rings are - I don't have any data on failures with the new pipes. I'm not sure what the book time for the job is, but it's a moderately big job - removal of the supercharger (and everything that goes with that) has to happen. Probably a full day job for a mechanic.

Thanks!
The coolant pipes were just one line item and a bunch of other stuff was replaced as well (that also required pulling the supercharger), plus engine mounts, all fluids changed/flushed, plugs, etc. For that reason I can't really give you a number. I do recall seeing numbers on this forum of anywhere from $1200-$2500 for labor and parts, depending who's doing the work.

Thanks!
The dealer quoted me around $2500 to have the coolant pipes replaced. I opted to wait until next service since it would have pushed my yearly service to over $5000 (did spark plugs, coolant flush, oil change and supercharger belts). Apparently job is pretty involved.
Glad to hear you made the jump!
Hope to hear back that they are a quality part and fit exactly as the factory plastic parts do.
This would help me decide to keep my car longer too since this should be a one and done repair?

Ditto....a few months and a few dollars to put aside. It is still CPO so I am covered (ENGINE WISE) for abother year. I think I'll put funds into a kitty to do the big job come fall.
One thing to note, I just got them today in the mail and they look obviously just like the above. The only connection that I don't understand is the female one on the smaller of the two units....see above, It seems to not have have anything to hold whatever the mail part is "in" or attached. I don't know what the regular parts look like or how they work, but it seems odd to me. I had a bad experience with glued in 996tt coolant pipes in the past and really don't want to have that again.....

There is a short aluminum piece of tubing with o-rings on each end that connect the y pipe and the top pipe. Look at the photos in this link done by a guy who did the job on his own:
What do these coolant pipes look like in the engine compartment? Are they viewable from outside? I am owner of a brand new 2022 P450 AWD. Not sure about doing any mods yet.
