Has this part been a point of failure? I don't know if this part has failed in the past or if is under high pressure. Should I replace it if (when) I do the aluminum pipes? Thanks.
Yes, it's a common failure point, up there in the top 3 or 4 of failed coolant system parts.
Definitely get it done when you do the two front cross-over pipes (the alu ones) as the SC needs to come off for the lower of those two pipes anyway, and the SC also needs to come off to do the rear coolant manifold.

Do you know if this part was re-engineered like the other OEM pipes (i.e. no longer seamless from Jaguar)? Just curious.

Yes it was redesigned some time around 2016 along with the front pipes and from MY2016 onwards all F-Types came with the new one-piece/seamless versions of all three pipes.

It was later than that. My MY18 built in March 2017 had the old pipes. I believe the redesigned pipes became standard with the later builds of MY18 and newer.

The front pair of pipes were redesigned & lots of posts on these.
However, I've not found any reference to a redesign of the rear manifold (AJ814007). Do you have a part number you can share?
The only detail I can find of the manifold shown covers VINs: K22185 to K61046 which is quite a range - presumably to MY20+
MaxD do you have any more info on the rear water manifold being released in Aluminum?

The bolt holes in the diamond shaped block off plate do not come close to matching the bolt holes in the Jag. I spoke to Agency Power and they do not make a version of this that they think fits the F-Type.
What we are going to try is drilling new holes in the block off plate. Looks like there is enough room. If that does not work we'll have to make our own plate.

My MY18 was a May 2017 build. I always assumed I had the seamless cooling pipes after reading prior postings on the topic. Now I am not so sure. I think I may have the old style. Does anyone have pictures of the old style and the new style?
It's easy to spot once you take the plastic cover off - the top pipe is visible.
After speaking to the dealer, if they have the sandwiched design in stock, they'll fit that rather than the uprated part. Hobsons Choice on what you get!

It still has the hose nipple but is apparently blocked off internally.
Here is a diagram showing the part but only the entire symposer part number and nothing for the blanking plate.
It looks like only Land Rover used the blanking part but who knows? We have had reports of the late models like 2021-2022 that does not have the symposer installed at the factory?
I did find an old listing that sold this part separate but it was a dead link and no other info. Can't see inside so still not sure?

I got one of those kits but hadn't checked fit yet. Disappointing but not entirely unexpected. It was cheap enough though, so let us know if it can be made to work. I was hoping to avoid having to fabricate my own since I don't have machine shop access. I don't think I'd get the results I want with a hacksaw, files, and a hand drill

I remember seeing that listed separately years ago but when I tried looking it up again earlier this year I only found the entire symposer assembly. I was looking at my model year though. Perhaps looking up a model that did not have one would be more successful. I haven't given up on this but it's low priority.
I have received an E-mail to my inquiry to the LR Centre Ltd. Asking for more information. So maybe some help from the experts.
Pretty simple to just make a plate too.
Here is a sketch I got from another thread but if I can find the above stock part and it's not too expensive it would be a very easy installation.
Sorry I don't remember who to credit for this? I did not draw it out. As posted in that thread I think you could leave the O-ring out and use a flat plate and a flat gasket. Some even just siliconed the plate on with no gasket.

I think the o-ring groove is too shallow, any idea what O-ring was being looked at/spec'd? Is the face on the engine machined flat to accept an O-ring?

Yes it's a flat surface on the engine with no o-ring groove. Your design is far better but we maybe making this more complicated than it needs to be?

That is a very kind offer! Yes I do. Don't know when I will install this as I have the SC snout noise and plan in the future to remove the SC to replace it.
I did want to post back as LR parts got back to me and I have the factory part number but as always Jaguar parts are expensive! They want between $45-$60 for it.
