Default Amber Engine Light is Illuminated - Possible Causes?

2015 F-Type S. Purchased used. I've had it for about two weeks. I was driving home from running an errand this morning and the amber engine light lit up. The manual indicates that this is some kind of emissions issue. So here are my questions:
  1. What could the possible causes be?
  2. How urgently do I need to take this into the dealer?
  3. Is there any harm in driving the car for a few days before taking it in?

Probably not urgent. Jaguar seems to have an issue with O2 sensors, and you may need one (or more) replaced. If your car never had the K405 software installed, the dealer may install it. If you've seen any of the snap/crackle/pop threads, make sure the dealer has upgraded their SDD software so it installs the newer K405b (think that's what it's called.)

What DTCs are stored in the system? Post them here.

Took it to Auto Zone and had them run a diagnostic. This is what they came up with:

Global OBD2
Jaguar
P0062 (2/3) Pending
HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 2, Sensor 3)

Have no idea what any of that means. Sitting in my local Jag dealership waiting for them to diagnose. Ugh.

Or, if you'd like to know way too much, search for '0062' in the Jag OBD guide...

Winds up being the O2 sensor. Good call, DJS. Apparently it failed. Replaced. My dealer got me in and out in quick order. Very satisfied.
