Default Ambient lighting

I assumed it would change all of the lighting in the car to the chosen colour, but it seems to just change the light under the Jesus bar and centre console but not the door handle lights which are always blue. Is this normal or is mine not right?

I assumed that too...and shortly thereafter discovered (through trial and error) that I was wrong. Live and learn.

Thanks to both of you for that little detail. The base car has the same ambient lighting, but the colors can't be changed. They are always blue in all the places you describe.

It is rather odd that all models have ambient lighting in the same places, but they've decided to bundle it as in an extra-cost option for which the color can be changed in some places, but not others.

Does the base car without the configurable ambient lighting change to red in Dynamic mode?

Is that a serious question? If so, no it's always blue.

Yes, it's a serious question. Dynamic mode in my car changes the ambient lighting to red (from blue), as well as console graphics in the center dash.

Re And3rew's original, question, my car has a changeable ambient light above the arm rest in each door, BUT the light in the door handle itself stays as blue, which I find annoying and disjointed, and therefore I leave the ambient in blue all the time.

OK, thanks, so I get blue all the time for no extra charge. I like blue.

I love that changing to dynamic mode switches everything in the car to red. Then back to blue when you turn it off. Fun detail.

On mine I can switch to 3 (or is it 4?) different colours and it affects the door area, center console / dash. Except in dynamic it goes to red and I don't believe it can be changed from red while in dynamic.

The car is the R with pretty well every option, but ceramic brakes, so I'm not sure if the lights are standard on the R, or part of one of the options. I tend to drive in dynamic a lot, so I don't get to use the different lighting as much as I would like.

I now wish I had gotten the ceramics as I believe they keep the wheels a lot cleaner.
Lawrence.

I think there are about six options, although in reality it is two shades of blue, two shades of red plus white and purplish.

Mine it does all change to red in dynamis mode,

But the lights in the door handles stay blue whatever your colour choice.

Yes they are a standard feature on the R.

I have the R and I believe an ambient lighting problem. My interior lighting is red all of the time including the doors and even when not in dynamic mode. I have gone into the settings to change it to other colors but nothing changes - everything remains red. The good news is I like red and the car is red so I will just wait and have the dealer look at it when I take it in for its regular service.

Strange not all colors change, why bother with this feature at all?

Do you have the Redzone interior, or whatever they call it? Wonder if that's a feature of Redzone, that the interior lighting is permanently red?

In my manual, it says that the exterior lights have to be on when adjusting the ambient lighting on the touchscreen!? Weird.

Not just mine then. I was wondering...

I have the duo tone interior - jet with red inserts. Maybe that is the reason. However, in reading your post I may not have had the exterior lights on at the time as it was mid-day. Will try again with lights on.
