Have the 60k tomorrow. Dealership estimate is for $835.61, most of which is "Inspect" stuff.
We're taking a pass on that.
Doing motor oil at a 5,000 mile interval and having them drop and refill the rear diff fluid.
Transfer case was done at 40,000 by PO according to the service advisor.
Probably have them do the air filters, I hear they are a PITA.
My JLR guy and Porsche guy say let the ZF go to 100,000.
Work in the SC oil on the next LOF.
Anything else I should be thinking about?

Pinion seal is leaking. Astonishing.
They topped off the diff and will be replacing the seal in a week and will change fluid then.

Not that astonishing. It seems common enough. I had mine replaced under warranty.

Appointment for Monday. Called that afternoon. "We plan to get it done tomorrow, we haven't had a chance to start on it yet."
Called this afternoon. "The tech hopes to have it done by tomorrow afternoon."
Asked my boss, the former JLR guy WTF? "Well, the tech has to take the whole diff apart to replace the pinion seal, it's a kit that comes with bearings and everything, it's like an XF, only beefier." "It's pretty rare to have them leak."
Me: "not if you look at the fleet of owners who post on the forum, it's a fairly common fault, which is why I asked the dealership to look at it."

Does anyone has a better link to a more updated / correct version?

This is the official maintenance checklist from my dealer service center. I just had the 4yr/64k service done. Spark plugs are scheduled for 5yr/80k miles for the V6S.

Enter the VIN and every schedule for your vehicle is available. Here's an example for my XK:

1. Latest service record

2. Service Schedules

3. Schedule for the next service due:

The full service history is also available through the same portal. So much more convenient and less open to fraud than the paper Service Portfolio.

My 2016 R was due for spark plug change last year, but I opted not to since the car has less than 25K miles. Should I have it done by years or wait longer?

I did plugs just now at 50k....just because I am not owner 1. I use top tier fuel...others may not have, etc. Diff fluid in back looks liek 50k...but mechanic said front looks new.
Air filters looked like they had never been done before at 50k....car had had 3 formal dealership services and passed cpo.....

Anyway, on the plugs: they were pristine in my case (380..). It was a 3.5h job due to the S/C on top fwiw. I put in top tier, proper NGK (car runs pefectly but did before....).

Questions to the group along these lines:

1. Is the transfer case part of any normal Jaguar "standard" service in the first 5 years? I don't remember seeing it in the normal list but it seems to come up a lot at a relatively early interval...

2. Can the ZF really go to 100k...my bias is to do it now and then q 50k...it is not a cheap service so I am curious (and love to use the paddles...).

My plan was to do oil at 55k....and transfer case and ZF (have no records of the transfer case ever being done) ....but could wait on the zf until 60. Some youtube videos suggest ZF suggests a shorter interval than the car companies..liek 50-60k. My bias is with the tranny company to know the tranny well....

Thanks all.

The schedule for my MY18 V8 R AWD has the transfer box fluid changed every 3 years.

Regarding plug changes, I've read someone saying that although the plugs can go a long time, if you leave 'em in until the mileage is reached in a low mileage car they might have seized in the block - doing 'em more frequently can avoid that happening.

This. Plugs today are so robust and last so long they usually have more of a danger of seizing in the block due to the constant thermal cycle than component failure or performance degradation.
