I am one of those who uses a commuter car. 2001 Corolla. Haven't vacuumed the inside in at least 5 years and it usually gets washed when it rains. Wife hates the car (calls it the ghetto car) but I love that I don't care where I park it or worry about door dings. Been retired for 2 years now but I still use it all the time for grocery store, HD runs, the gym etc. Oh, and it gets 32 MPG

Perfect. I had a '72 Datsun PU decades ago [bought it for 1K in 1981] that looked like sh*t but ran like a top and served all kinds of purposes [including hauling my own trash to the landfill]. I miss having a vehicle like that. These days I use my wife's Cayenne for lugging stuff around [could be worse but it was really nice not worrying about spilling whatnot all over the place].
