I didn't even know how to reply to that one...
LOL, I suspect she was thinking Tesla.

I'm casually rolling through a shopping center parking lot a couple days ago and a well dressed African-American gent passing me slowly in the other direction in a 5 series BMW sticks his head out the window and yells:" You GO with that baaad assed, car, man!".
Who am I to argue with reason?

I had parallel parked and was gauging whether I parked close enough to the curb (always worrying about clipping the body molds on my 16 R). Two cops walk by. One asks with a tone of wonderment and excitement, "What is that?". I said, "It's a Jaguar". As the other cop shook his head in agreement, he said, "Man, that thing is gorgeous!".

So, I asked them, "Guys, what do I have to do to keep from drawing too much attention to this thing by officers of the law for purposes other than observation?". The second cop said, "There's nothing you can do. Stay clean and just don't give us a reason to pull you over".

So, now I wash my car after every drive... lol

Knock on wood, but the rear view camera and downturned reverse mirror make parallel parking light years easier than I ever thought it would be.

But the wash joke is FUNNY. I don't have a garage, and finally started using my car cover after every time I park for more than a few hours. I've got it down to about 15-25 seconds to get it on. Fun.

As for new reactions...

Bart Simpson looking 13 year old cruising across a city street crosswalk on a skateboard, casual as all get out, moving forward with a twisted head smiling bright at the car, bobbing his head, "YEAH mMmaaaaan F-TYPE! YAahhhhh"
lol

most reactions I get are from 15-20 year old boys LOL That's really too bad. But I said before the BRG and tan top make the car look like a transformer.

Parked in front of the Post Office with my wife inside, a young woman drives up in an Audi TT and parks near me. She immediately walks over to me, but before she can speak I say, "Nice car." She says "You should talk." From there she gushes over the car, and says "That's what I'd like to have but I have 2 dogs." Obviously a car person.

I think we need a picture of said hot girl in order to prove this is a true story. Also, for science or something.

We were in Glasgow and had stopped, cars parked and we wee outside them chatting away, actually at this point I was on my mobile.....

As Connors X type is an almost identical, if smaller version of mines was asking why his didn't get the same attention at that point.
I told him it was a size thing and mines was bigger which was probably the draw

Later on we were in the local garage, bought lottery tickets, cigs, latte etc as you do and I was talking to a friend of mine.
Connor again motioned me to look at the guy in the BMW Z4 craning his neck as he came out the parking spot eyeing up the XJ

Good day today

OK - a couple of other this past weekend...

1. Leaving dinner Friday night with my wife in Oz, The Emerald Dream (My name for our BRG R). On a local pike in PA. Speed limit 55. A brand new BMW 650 pulls along side with 2 guys in it. They pull slightly ahead in the left hand lane, he backs off the throttle a bit then he gooses it. My wife says, "Don't do it". But, I did. lol. Wiith him about a car length in front, I dropped it down 2 or 3 gears, caught him and flew by him. Had to move in front of him to go around the sole car that was in my lane (or his) for a hundred miles. lol. Moved back into the right lane, slowed to come to a red light - afterall, one must comply with the law. The 2 guys pull up to my left and both give me the thumbs up, dying laughing... My wife just shakes her head and says, "There are some things I'll never understand about little boys and their cars. How fast where you going?" I said, "Who cares?! Do you see those 2 guys laughing and bowing down to the powerful and magnificent Oz?" lol

2. My wife and I get into Oz in the parking lot at Longwood Gardens in PA. We're about to pull out when I notice across the lane, a woman passenger in an Audi Q5 is actually video taping us pull out of our parking lot! I tried to look cool and just act like I didn't notice... until the urge hit me. The cat simply had to growl, so I goosed it a bit. Then, they pulled in behind and followed us out of the parking lot while she filmed the whole time. A little weird feeling, to be honest....

Here's the only other Jag I can afford at the moment. Still, it's at least an XK

Default Small town Colorado.

Pulled into a gas station to fill-up. A young guy drives a beat-up white van on the opposite side of the pump. He's giving the car a good look-over and then says, "Pretty f***ing cool car, man." And then, "Didn't mean to offend." I reply, "Yeah, thanks. No offense taken." Always fun to fill-up in gas stations.

Today walking in from the garage at my condo:

Neighbor I've never talked to before: "That's a nice car!! You always have nice cars. You must do something really cool!"

Me: Oh, hah, thanks, I *insert two lines about my job*.

Neighbor: You know, your new car caused trouble for us! My husband was gawking at it and hit one of those poles in the parking garage!! I told him that's what he gets for gawking!

Was loading up groceries in the parking lot & noticed a guy walking slooooowly towards his brand new Ford F-150 pick-up 3 spots away from me. I'm taking my time loading the groceries bc the cart was full & the trunk is small. Managed to get everything into the trunk without having to resort to putting stuff on the passenger seat/floor. Get in, start the car & drop the top. The guy, who has been standing next to his truck & watching me this whole time, shouts out to me in a THICK Southern drawl, "That's a real sharp car you got there!" I say, "Thanks very much. Greatly appreciated." He gets into his truck & drives off.

Can't help but think he was probably regretting getting the F-150...

I don't think many F150 buyers cross shop F types.
