Heard back from my dealer today,

Good Morning Karim
They promised to give us allocations in March but thus far we have no allocations for 2019 F-Type. And truthfully we have no control over manufacture plan and allocations. I'll be happy to let you know as soon as we have the information available to us.
Thank you for your patience

"What we have here is a failure to communicate."
K's dealer should have a plan to satisfy his customer's order. It sounds like the person who is not communicating with you is out to lunch. I agree with Nda, I would go elsewhere. The dealer is only a re-seller. The Jag comes out of a box. All the dealer has to get right is the order and if they can't do that what good are they. So you have to pickup the vehicle in another locale, so what. Or even if you have to ship it, a few hundred dollars on the 75K car. In another context there are dealers who specialize in OSD and have a national practice. You need someone who will be pro-active to get the deal done. I know I have met far too many car sales people who can do nothing other than sell something off the lot. But don't get me started on the state of the retail automobile business in the US. Its rotten from top to bottom. The buyers would be well served by a whole new model not protected by the political establishment. (How's that for an over the top rant?)

Hi Karim
Your location here indicates San Jose. If your dealer is:Their website says that they have 53 Jaguars (4 F-Types)
My dealer is:And they have 43 Jaguars (6 F-Types)
My dealer has successfully placed an order for my F-Type, I visited him last Saturday and he logged into the Jaguar website to show the order to me.
I believe a friend of mine also has an order. Both his and mine are scheduled for deliver to Getzville NY, a suburb of Buffalo, in early May (we hope).
With my dealer having 2 allocations and being a small dealer like the Stevens Creek dealer in San Jose, I don't understand why your dealer is having trouble.
This dealer in LA:has 345 Jaguars (112 F-Types).
I could see Jaguar not wanting them to order 2019 F-Type's until they had sold a lot of their F-Type inventory.
BUT maybe Hornburg CAN order a 2019 for you, assuming you don't mind the drive to LA.
Good Luck,
Bill

I had a positive purchasing experience with Haron Jaguar in Fresno. Nice little family owned dealership. Can you believe there is still a Mom & Pop Jaguar dealership in CA. Extraordinarily accommodating. Randy Haron, the owner, answers the phone.

It took JLR a bit to answer me... ..instead of just saying : "..we stop/start production for different markets.." , or some other usefull reply, they apply the BS-approach first :

So I was inspired yesterday when I saw this extremely pretty black R coupe with a fixed wing and red interior. It was 100K, plus 10K in options (including $155 for the home-link, $350 for red seat belts, etc, etc,), so 110K all together.
Eureka, I have found the answer. Information should be an option. For $50 you can get an answer to your question, $20 you can get a brochure, $100 gets you a test drive, etc.

An OSD program is a good brand loyalty builder even if it does not significantly increase sales. Volvo and Jaguar are now in the same league relative to sales volume and I think Jaguar would be well advised to try an OSD program. A expense to be sure, but a brand builder. I expect a lot of people would rather see Coventry than Goteburg.

reply on orders by JLR
Its a special art : write/say a lot but not presenting any real information...
But for the USA : dealer ordered his share and has to wait for a new pie.. .. I wonder..

Mr xxxxxx - thank you for your additional correspondence to Ms Ruseva .
I would stress that Mrs Danzan- Villiers' response was a sincere attempt to assist, not to be obstructive as without specific information regarding the North America retailer, it is difficult to speculate .
Whilst I am unable to provide an answer to the specific situations in your original note I would advise as follows:-
Allocations of new vehicles are made at a market level for each month of build and these are then in turn allocated to a Retailer level by the markets.
Your vehicle looks as if the order was pulled forward as part of a process to prioritise sold orders already slotted for build .
From a USA perspective, the retailer may have filled their allocations which resulted in the vehicle being delayed.
Hope this is of help
Kind Regards
Andy
