I go several years before I put on the rear plate. Police won't bother you as long as the car looks new and they see the dealer temporary registration taped to the front window. But I've never ran front plates on any of my vehicles and never had a problem in CA. I have friends who never put on their back plate, but I don't think it looks that bad. Good reason not to have plates in cities with red light cameras.
I don't but parts of LA and Hollywood have red light cameras. And depending on traffic (which always bad), if you are caught in one of those intersections on a Yellow light and don't get though till after the light turns Red. You have a very good chance of getting a ticket. If you have no plates you can't get a ticket. There are also clear plastic covers and aerosol sprays that are supposed to obscure the plate from the camera's as well, I don't know how well they work.
Mythbusters tried the plate covers, sprays and all that. None of them worked.

Guess what? We learned the hard way. Dont touch the leaper on the spoiler
Yeah...that's been a well documented issue on this forum for awhile. At least it's cheap enough to buy another leaper to cover what looks like holes. Before, I think, there were just recessed dimples.
I don't like the AWD part of the badge, should have just left it as "R". I plan to see if I can get it replaced with just an "R"
The R and AWD parts are separate. I know because my car came equipped with them even though it's neither. I removed those emblems and installed the proper S badge.
I also removed the JAGUAR lettering from the spoiler, but left the leaper. That looks fine.
I purchased my R from out of state (the Hamptons) and along with finding all the saved radio channels to be hardcore rap, I also found that they had blacked out the leaper on the spoiler and removed the word "jaguar" from underneath the leaper. Can the dealership return this to stock easily? Any ideas on cost?

Yea, have the dealership identify all the opera and symphonic radio frequencies in your area. Proceed to have the dealership input these better frequencies into your presets to override the undesireable hardcore rap.
Please don't delay. People just don't seem to realize that with each additional day the rap music occupies a preset, is one less day a superior form of music can occupy that particular preset.

I was obviously referring to returning the spoiler to stock. I can figure the radio out on my own. I just thought it was funny to find that type of music on a car coming out of the Hamptons. But what do I know?

Google "who listens to rap"
You've got a social science lesson coming.
Swapping the leaper is probably something you can do in about 90 seconds. The word JAGUAR" maybe another three minutes.
If you take your car to the dealer, it will probably take them "an hour". You well know they use better dental floss than we can buy and their rulers are a bit more accurate too. Seriously, Google "f-type rear" and you'll see 100 examples of where the word goes. You'll learn to love to ween your life of the dealer.
Personally the rap hipster did you a huge favor, Ferrari or any other high end brand doesn't shout their name all over. The smooth lines of the car speaks for itself. One leaper says it all, "I'm a Jag, better ask somebody!" This is precisely why theres a thread right here devoted to debadging.
I'm one of those rap guys and I blacked out my leaper and have the JAGUAR lettering in my glove, you're welcome to it but if you buy it new, the spacing will be intact because the letters are backed with film.

Debaged mine today... bought a new Leaper emblem and painted it with a gloss black enamel paint. Figured I'd post it here since there have been some other debadges. Made sure to also take some measurements of where everything was in terms of placement in the event I decide to put them back on later... thoughts?
