I had this 72' Plymouth Duster for a couple years. It was such a money pit (mostly my fault for swapping transmission, going with EFI, adding power steering, etc) but when it ran, it was a lot of fun. I had more money tied up in this car that what I paid for my 21' Type R.
Been through 4 classic Mustangs in the past 3 years; 2 65 Coupes, a 65 Fastback [sold it due to rod-bearing issue] and now my dream car - a 67 S-code Fastback.
I could easily sell the Fastback to buy the F-type but I know I'll regret it dearly...

I have a 1968 Camaro RS restomod and a 1975 Stingray. Stingray has the small engine and is mostly stock. The camaro has a newer 350 and is a bit of a monster to drive. Just got the stingray and am working on making them twins. Gotta add stripes.
I actually have the Fastback not the Coupe; it's resto-modded heavily.

Absolutely agree. I love mine, but they take work to even drive sparingly. I had to replace the trailing arm bushings and am about to have to cut the front springs on the Stingray myself, because I just cant find anyone that wants to work on them. Oh and I am NOT a mechanic.
I’ve owned three Triumphs. The last one was a 1973 TR6 that I restored myself, frame off.
Four years ago I decided it was time for a change. I did very well selling it on a Hemmings on-line auction. But, I enjoy the British car hobby and have made many friends there. So, I stepped up to another British car, a beautiful Jaguar. Comfortable, fast, for me it checks all the boxes, and I can still hang with all my Brit car friends.
In the past four years, I can’t tell you how many old graybeards like me look longingly at my F-Type and want to talk about it, which I am happy to do.
Pay no attention to the MOPAR detritus in and around the barn. My misguided father-in-law was good enough to allow me to temporarily store this little beauty while I got my own garage in order.

$1500 got me couch on wheels original survivor with 65,000 miles on it. Plus you can fix almost anything on it in about 10 mins with pry bar and a crescent wrench.
Thread revival dredged up my 2016 post and shows just how sick I really am.

I'm sort of in the same boat as the OP but with my daily drivers currently. This X308 was just supposed to be temporary, an inexpensive luxury car to soak up the bumpy roads while I healed up from back surgery. Five years later and I am still enjoying this old Jag. Its an absolute pleasure to drive and almost as unique as a classic car. But I know its getting old and parts hard to find, etc. I'm overdue for a daily driver upgrade.

So that upgrade wound up being a 2012 Jaguar XF 5.0L modified with a Spires Comfort Suspension and minus -1 sized wheels for extra sidewall. Not quite the magic carpet ride of the X308 but quite nice for the last seven years. Its now been relegated to the weekender category along with the XJ8.

No, now I have two Jaguars and still have the same truck too. I haven't rotated anything. On top of that, I bought an old Lotus and most recently I bought a new 2024 Mustang, first "new" vehicle since the pickup in 2007. Finally a car with a warranty that I won't have to work on myself for a few years. Nothing has left (well I finished a project which dismantled had been taking up two bays). The fleet remains intact, just enlarged, stacked on lifts and earlier this summer I added a carport which is now where the XJ8 sits with a car cover on it. But now I am truly out of space and yet my wish list is still several pages long. Next purchase something would have to get kicked outside in the weather or I have to let go of something, most logically one of the Jags as they tend to be the most demanding mistresses. I must have separation anxiety or something. Cars are like potato chips. I can't stop eating. Need psychiatric help.
