Some of you may have seen my thread for a project I started last year to make custom paddles for my XKR. Well I have finally completed the first set and they are amazing. Here are some pics. Would like to see how many of you are ready to upgrade yours to something more substantial.

Very nicely made. My factory plastic ones have not started to peel yet. It would be a shame to lose the illuminated + and - symbols, however I think we all know which upshifts and downshifts. As long as these are not extremely pricey I think they will sell well. Keep us posted.

I did follow your thread with interest jhummer. After driving the F-Type now for six moths mainly in dynamic mode and using the flappy paddles. Having used them a lot, I find myself needing a hell of a lot more 'meat' above the paddle shifter both sides; you only notice this if you do happen to put anything more than a quarter of a turn of lock on and need to change gear.
I have just purchased a set of these that are easy on/off and can extend with ally until I get the feel right:
New Blade Aluminum Steering Wheel Shift Paddle Shifter Extension for Jaguar | eBay
I'll most probably end up coming your way for a set...Can you do them in Plastic/PVC that scan be sprayed say silver?

Those are interesting and cheap, but they are stick on and look like it. Mine is a complete fabricated seamless piece complete with new Jaguar electronics. If you'd like a set I may be able to paint over the carbon and then a coat of polyester over the paint.

Yep, they are.
I bought them as a bit of a trial really. They use 4 small allen key grub screws to pinch onto the existing paddles which isn't ideal. Of course, you still see the existing paddle beneath which is not great, but it was something I wanted to try so that I could gauge how much I needed to extend the top paddle upwards.
Yours, as I know from the proto build, are a league above these Chinese things :-)

There are dozens of different shapes and styles from all sorts of car manufacturers and the style perference certainly can be a personal one but my goal was to make something consistent with the Jaguar shape and not too extreme as too limit others interest.
As for carbon fiber, many have it or have requested it and it was the easiest to fabricate at this time. I know I can also make them black and I am looking at possibly offering other colors such as silver if it is feasible.
