Another option at least for Euro and Oz owners with the ZF 8HP70 gearbox - Penrite ATF BMV.
Three days ago I bought 3 x 4 litre bottles of this for $134 AU (around $100 US or 70 GBP) from my local auto parts store so zero shipping cost.
According to the Penrite website it is fully compatible with ZF Lifeguard 6, 8 and 9, see here: https://www.penrite.info/en/auto-tra...f-bmv-full-syn
Thing is buying anywhere near 12 litres of Lifeguard 8 would have cost me around four times as much.
It seems it is available also in Europe and UK, see here: https://www.penrite.info/en/about-us
Not so sure about US or Canada though, I couldn't find any Penrite distributors there.
Can't vouch yet for how well it works as I don't plan on a trans fluid replacement for another three or so years, but if Penrite say it is fully compatible that is good enough for me.

Good to know there are potential options for the ZF8HP maintenance. You will only need 4-6 Liters ever to drain and fill these. Unless you plan on doing a fill/drain/fill, or a complete flush/recycle, you won't get more than that out in most cases. For reference, I picked up the official ZF stuff for ~$19.50 bottle and used 4.5 (that is what drained out of mine), so cost (US) was ~ $97 for the 5 bottles needed.
Filter is also needed, and can be purchased for ~ $100-120 (US). Most are built into the pan, but Dorman makes one with replaceable filter only I believe.
Thanks for sharing.

Do you think this is the replacement Dorman filter for their pan? Shows the ZF8HP applications used by Stelantis.

So if the correct pan/filter for your car is 265-850, then that is the correct filter replacement. Just make sure you have the right pan...and the rest is easy.

Thx!
I'll need to research that, as I initially just searched the Dorman site for the filter for the ZF trans ZF8HP70, and it came up with the 850 filter.
The 853 filter is what comes up if you search by make/model/year.
I already bought the Dorman 265-853 pan for next spring's fluid replacement.
You have to admit, they look as if each would fit. They might flow differently or something.
