Default back speakers -- almost no output!

So, finally, after a late spring, I'm tooling around with my F-Type, getting all the dust off the car after long winter/spring storage, checking capacities and levels, and tweaking the settings.... including the audio, which was probably prompted by my new XE daily driver.

Anyhow, as I played with the balance and fader, I realized that I have almost no output from the rear speakers. What output that is there is distorted.

So, the question: Bad amp, blown speakers, or have i something set wrong? I doubt if it's the latter, so wondering if amp or speaker failure is typical.

thx for the help!

Thx.... didn't realize that the software fix helped with this too. Is there a specific TSB that I should reference?

Mine are the same way. Almost no sound. Dealer said nothing can be done about it -twice. Mine is a 2014 S too. If you find a solution please post.

If they are not doing much, save the weight and remove them.

Amazing...I have a sound system ! A shout out to Daniel Luik for the answer to the fix and dmchao were correct. The bulletin was correct ( JTB00432v4 )

The interior had to be taken apart because BOTH rear sub-woofers were blown, and insulate the door speakers and rear. Configured audio amp using IDS/SDD for the software update. Both doors and parcel shelf- verified fixed. Insulator sound kit T2R21163x4 Parts T2R10501 2- T2R21202 2-T2R21163 2-T2R21164
Supposedly , it took a some time for the software update to configure. Because I have the extended warranty until 2020, no charge with exceptional service.

And for ADELE- and Earth/Wind/and Fire, Chicago, Santana, she sounds great !

Could someone post the actual document for JTB00432v4? Does this version address just the vibration or the lack of output from the rear speakers too?

This fixed everything. I FURNISHED EVRYTHING THEY DID AND PRINTED OUT INCLUDING THE BULLETIN.

Well, I learned today that this work would not be covered..... my car is under the CPO warranty and not the factory warranty. Shoot!

pjr, I'm not sure I would be satisfied with whomever you spoke with and would try again with the manager.

I had this fixed in APRIL ! And as Unhingd said, it needed the software update.

Well, I tried again today, same dealership, different adviser, same answer. CPO does not qualify for audio warranty, not even the TSBs.

May try another dealer.

Make them show you where it says that, Since when are TSB's a warranty issue?

Is there a way to check if a certain VIN received the work per the above referenced TSB? I've got 6 months left on the initial factory warranty (CPO warranty after that) and if my car has not been serviced per the TSB, I'd like to get it done.

Brought it to the dealer again --- they are telling me that the JTB 00043v4 is for the rattle..... not for the low back speaker output. HELP! Can anyone provide something that io can counter with these folks? It's in the shop now.
