back speakers -- almost no output!

So, finally, after a late spring, I'm tooling around with my F-Type, getting all the dust off the car after long winter/spring storage, checking capacities and levels, and tweaking the settings.... including the audio, which was probably prompted by my new XE daily driver.
Anyhow, as I played with the balance and fader, I realized that I have almost no output from the rear speakers. What output that is there is distorted.
So, the question: Bad amp, blown speakers, or have i something set wrong? I doubt if it's the latter, so wondering if amp or speaker failure is typical.
thx for the help!

The interior had to be taken apart because BOTH rear sub-woofers were blown, and insulate the door speakers and rear. Configured audio amp using IDS/SDD for the software update. Both doors and parcel shelf- verified fixed. Insulator sound kit T2R21163x4 Parts T2R10501 2- T2R21202 2-T2R21163 2-T2R21164
Supposedly , it took a some time for the software update to configure. Because I have the extended warranty until 2020, no charge with exceptional service.
And for ADELE- and Earth/Wind/and Fire, Chicago, Santana, she sounds great !

This fixed everything. I FURNISHED EVRYTHING THEY DID AND PRINTED OUT INCLUDING THE BULLETIN.

pjr, I'm not sure I would be satisfied with whomever you spoke with and would try again with the manager.
I had this fixed in APRIL ! And as Unhingd said, it needed the software update.
The bulletin was correct ( JTB00432v4 )
