As an owner I say go for it. It's a great car and if you are not afraid of the technology get it. You don't have to use it all the time. I don't, but it's nice to have sometimes.

Don't think you'll regret it.

Didn't realize backup camera s are only for jaguar f types... I am on my third new corvette and none of them nor my AWD Cadillacs have back up cameras.

I drive into manhattan and have a parking pass for almost any spot in the city streets and parallel park my corvette quite often.

I apologize if my opinion on the value or personal need transcended f type specific ownership. Parallel parking or backing up a corvette or the jaguar seemed pretty similar to me on my last test drive.

If you like backup camera technology....that's great and I had no intention of hurting anyones feelings with my opinion of them...

I admire the beauty in form on the new jaguar and look forward in contributing to this wonderful forum.

Best of luck ordering your new jaguar f type. What ever you decide for your car is good.. The f type is a stunning sportscar...

No right or wring . Just personal opinions. Have fun!

I'd say buy the Vision Pack. I don't know why people are saying 'save the $5k' unless they are suggesting to not get the prerequisite Premium Pack also...I paid $2100 for the Vision Pack upgrade on the R coupe.

Besides the backup camera it has 4 front and 4 back sensors, blind spot monitors, side traffic alert when backing up, swivelling headlights, and automatic high beam.

I like the side traffic alert because I back out onto the street every morning and the side visibility isn't great on my street, from any car, let alone the low F-type.

I wonder if some technology may have helped our hapless friend here?

Although I'm *totally* willing to concede the driver skill thing with this one!!!!

LMAO, the only thing that could possibly help that individual is a car that drives itself. The sad thing is that he/she could well have had a backup camera and parking sensors in that BMW. In fact, the more I think about it, it was probably all that beeping that rattled what brain cells were active.

Just a little clarification, the law that was passed by the NHTSA requires a "Back-up Assistance Device" on all NEW vehicles in the States from 2018 on (not necessarily a camera).
